Birutegal says:
You go to anywhere two or more people are gathered in His name. The church is composed of the body of Christ, the called out aka saints. It is that simple. It is not a building or a denomination per se.

You can attend a physical church bldg, hopefully where the Word of God is taught as Truth revealed to holy Jewish men by God.

Birutegal says:
Though we be unfaithful, he remains faithful. It is on His righteousness we depend and will go before God, not our own self-righteousness.

Showing forth or working out our salvation simply means to let others see it. Let it produce fruit. However, if we remain babes and are immature, then we will produce little or no fruit.

Once a person has placed all of his trust in the finished atoning work of Jesus, he is then sealed with the Holy Spirt unto the day of redemption. He has passed from death to life. He no longer is under condemntation. That's why the gift of salvation is called so great a salvation.

When asked what works one must do to be saved, Jesus said the works of God are to believe in Jesus.

If we endure to the end, we will be rewarded by co-reigning with Jesus in the Millennium. See Luke 19:12-27. Doesn't get any clearer than that.

Bohemian Man -

I'm almost at a loss for words...almost =)

You don't agree with us, yet you've defended us...

You recognized and pointed out something you have objectively observed - AND you were criticized for it, too. This just doesn't happen every day.

Faith,

having been an ex- protestant minister and having a Master of Divinity degree, I feel a need in pointing out the hypocrisy of ANY belief system. I have done this with Catholicism as well.

I particularly direct my attacks at those who profess, but don't practice, the very faith they claim is so sacred to them.

I have friends of every flavor and the only thing I judge them by is their heart. (out of the mouth the heart speaks).

I think it's sad that certain posters can spew such hatred simply over another persons Theology.

Remain in your spirit of love. For THAT spirit will be the the only Bible an unbeliever will be reading.

G.J. Stein,

I hear what you're saying. However, for some of us Agnostics it takes more than a mystical experience or anecdotal evidence.

I relate more to the 1st century intellectual Greeks who Saint Paul spoke of as being hard to convince because "they require a sign" (proof)

Barbara Lawlor,

I wish I could go too, but I'm 6000 miles away.

I guess I'll have to settle for listening to them on Youtube while sitting under a palm tree watching the Hawaiian sunset. (I guess the alternative isn't THAT bad)

Have fun!

This post displays a misunderstanding of what happened. To make a very long story short, Protestants do not owe anythng to the RCC. We got our Bible from God, not from the RCC. Secondly, the RCC (in the modern sense of the term) did not exist at the time of the Council of Nicea.

J. Yelton,

I don't know what you mean by "the RCC (in the modern sense of the term) did not exist at the time of the Council of Nicea".

Constantine called for AND watched over the Council. It was his brain child to establish an official doctrine of the Church. He was the one who decided that the Church would be established at the Vatican site where it is presently located.

The purpose of the Counsel of Nicea was to establish orthodox doctrine. The books of the Bible were determined later at the Council of Carthage.

Edward says:
Dear conservalibertarian:

Your Jesuitical shenanigans are too obvious. Jesuitical is a term derived from the characteristic methods of the Jesuits when arguing a point. It describes someone who is deceitful and cunning and practices prevarication.

You did not even try to discuss the substance of what I wrote. Why? Because you have no authority with which to refute what I have said.

You cannot win on the merits, so you attack my character through a false ad hominem attack as a smokescreen to divert attention from the real issue.

Former Israeli government official Shulamit Aloni succinctly described the epithet anti-Semite as "a trick, we always use."

I find it notable that you ended your post with an acronym that is a profane command. In doing so, you have revealed your true character. "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Matthew 12:34.
