Ac/Dc (Bon Scott era)
Van Halen (Roth and Hagar eras)
Gillan (the band)
The Scorpians
Led Zeppelin

For me, The Who and Jethro Tull aren't really HARD ROCK.
If they are, I'd include them and YES.
If you ever saw a YES concert in the 70's, it sure sounded like HARD ROCK....or at least difficult to play HARD ROCK. lol

Blues Rock Whitesnake or Glamsnake?

I never saw them as a "glam" band. They were always good. You can't tell me that "Whitesnake(1987)" is a bad album. Especially considering all the hairband garbage that was being put out at that time.

I don't think "Slip Of The Tongue" is too bad. Not as good as the previous album though. Sykes is actually uncredited on the album. He did most of the riff and rhythm work with Steve Vai brought in later during the sessions to add solos and other bits. They had a great band on that album. Get a load of this lineup: David Coverdale, Adrian Vandenburg, Rudy Sarzo, Steve Vai, and Tommy Aldridge. Wow!

I've noticed (on various music forums) that if you're a fan of the Stooges or the MC5....you're NOT a Deep Purple fan.

Any reasons why?
