T.Boyle-I hear you. I do have some odd interests i readily confess that, I have to admit I really like Big & Rich. individually they're lame but something about their harmonizing together works for me.
it's funny how I have something like 15 Deep Purple Cd's loaded on my IPOD and they don't show up on certain shuffles then a band like Bread-that i have maybe 5 songs from their best of, comes up in a shuffle. weird for sure

T. Boyle says:
Music Lover: Just wait until Miley Cyrus or Bette Midler shows up on mine - then you can have a field day. I have very little country though. I like that "Save a Horse" song OK, but I haven't added it to my collection. I've got some Johnny Cash, 1 Charlie Daniels, and maybe a Garth Brooks or 2, but that's about it.

Okay, so this is list is the result of an iTunes Genius playlist based on The Band's "The Weight"

The Weight - The Band
Ramblin Man - The Allman Brothers
The Joker - Steve Miller Band
Can't Find My Way Home - Blind Faith
White Room - Cream
Get Together - The Youngbloods
Heart of Gold - Neil Young
Mama Told Me Not to Come - Three Dog Night

Shambala - Three Dog Night
Ooh La La - The Faces
White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane

It was a pretty good playlist, but it was a little too heavy on hits and would have been a bit better with more album tracks mixed in.

T.Boyle-nothing to be ashamed-though you're on your own with the Miley Cyrus stuff. I'm a huge Southern Rock fan. I have Johnny Cash's greatest hits. same with Willie Nelson, George Jones and Hank Williams Sr and JR. Also a moderate Dolly Parton fan i'll admit.

you should check out more of the Big & Rich stuff-their best album imo is Horse Of A Different Color. you might like some of it-Big Time, Kick My A/S/S and Drinkin Bout You are some of my faves.

Music Lover: Yeah my kids watched Miley's show when it first came out and some of her songs got under my skin somewhat.

I do like southern rock and some blues rock, but I could never translate that to country music for the most part.

Working Man says:
You guys are talking country music so I have add my builty pleasure, which is Miranda Lambert. I like her tough Texas girl image. I like my country music with a rock edge, yes, I am into Southern Rock and Blues and the occasional country blonde hottie or honky tonk, beer drinking hell raising type country song/artist.

I'm not a huge Eagles fan, but I do like the "Desperado" album. IMO one of the top albums from the early 70's.

Posted on Jun 25, 2011 7:38:37 AM PDT
Music Lover says:
agreed. I'm a huge fan but that is my favorite record(probably because it's the most underplayed and underappreciated). Bernie Leadon is almost like the forgotten member but he wrote and sang a lot of great tracks in the early days.
