Sorry it's over. It really has been the highlite of my evening computer time. Either song deserved it, but I so love SFF - it's a powerful song. I can still visualize the tape that was shown on TV. Anybody out there know if it's on a DVD? Would love to know. Thanks

Most of Strawberry Fields (the video) can be found on The Beatles Anthology. Yes, the beginning and the end are missing, as they were on tv. However, through the words of the Beatles and George Martin (the video has even more interviews, clips and music videos), you get an even greater appreciation for the Beatles. Hope that helped. And get the dvd version!

I don't want to be the one to end it. I haven't voted throughout the whole process, so I'll sit by. I will add my thanks to SA for being a gracious host though.

All good things must end. Congratulations to those who supported "Strawberry Fields Forever"---it's a great song.

I still believe that, "In My Life", will stand the test of time better than "SFF"---the sentiments of IML are more universal.

However, there's been enough quibbling over that kind of stuff and, in the final analysis, it all comes down to personal opinion anyway.

"Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to . . . ."

The final top 20:
20) Baby You're a Rich Man
19) Got to Get You into My Life
18) No Reply
17) Two of Us
16) Norwegian Wood
15) I am the Walrus
14) Come Together
13) Here Comes the Sun
12) While My Guitar Gently Weeps
11) Helter Skelter
10) You Never Give Me Your Money
9) Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
8) Nowhere Man
7) Revolution
6) Hey Jude
5) Eleanor Rigby
4) Ticket to Ride
3) A Day in the Life
2) In My Life
1) Strawberry Fields Forever

I was hoping to be the last voter, but GEL beat me to it, which is more than fair, since she's been playing a lot longer.

I know that there were a lot of Johnny-come-latelies who supported "In My Life" at the last minute. As someone who came in about halfway through, I can't say much other than "Strawberry" failing to win out would have been crushingly unfair to the many people voting for it from the very beginning.

I wish "Day," "Hey Jude," and a host of songs other than "Eleanor" from Revolver would have finished higher, but I'm rather pleased overall with this top 20. Cheers to all...

Baby You're a Rich Man is my favorite and I pushed it all the way. Thanks for the list, Slats. I did not remember it making it to the top 20.

I buried Paul

"I'm very small."

"Craneberry shall" ~ one of John's excuses for what he said.

Another being, "I meant I buried Paul with my guitar."

As the Rock Years Present 1966" said:
The rumor is John said: I buried Paul.
Paul says it was John-
But he was being a little bit off the wall.
He didn't say: I buried Paul.
He said: Cranberry sauce!
"Cranberry sauce"
Still to come: The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds & The Who when The Rock Years continues......

Love all of this. So happy to see Beatle quotes - from songs. Does anyone else out there(I'm sure there are many) who got the "fish and finger pie" line from Penny Lane? My husband didn't - it was strange when I had to explain it - but then it's more British than US.

I am reminded of the lyric from ticket to ride, I think I'm gonna be sad, I think its today, the girl that's driving me mad is going away. Such was the game, it may have been annoying at time but now that its over, I miss it. Funny how we complain of the things we have to do on a daily basis but don't often realize that once it's over, it is missed.
