From Ann-Margret, Tuesday Weld and Jacqueline Bisset to Sarah Brightman, Sarah Chang and Anna Netrebko. Come on boys ~ and girls too ~ let's hear it.

Hilary Hahn. The only one that I'd like to marry. Besides Cecilia Bartoli ;-)

Sp Ar:

Angela Georgiu; violinist Julia Fischer; violinist Leila Josefowicz; Hahn and Netrebko are no brainers; Janine Jansen (childishly, I once during intermission picked up a strand of horsehair she pulled off her bow---kept it.) (wouldn't you?)

Armida says:
Oh well, since you guys only mention girls, here it goes:

Topi Lehtipuu... tall, handsome (Johnny Depp sort of way), very alluring voice

Nicolas Rivenq as Adario... Adario and Zima (Patricia Petibon) beat Brangelina by lightyears....

Sorry to say, but Florez isn't on my list, anymore... he's a midget, so, should have watched his weight....even his face seems to be sagging...

Of course, Philippe Jaroussky is a cutie...

Or how about Christine Schäfer in the Glyndebourne Festival Opera DVD performance of Lulu?

Here's a youtube channel with some clips: http://www.youtube.com/user/monasteriense.

(I have a special fondness for Lulu, and the Glyndebourne production in particular, because it's the first opera I actually enjoyed. Ms. Schäfer may well have played a significant role in that enjoyment....)

Wanda Landowska
Claudio Abbado
Daniel Barenboim
Montserrat Caballé
Hildegard of Bingen

Quite the insightful thread here.

Yes!

I love her =)

And not only for her vivacity and quaint charm...I wonder, on some lonely nights, if she has the intellect to match her talents...her recordings lead me to think yes, but who knows.

I wish I could meet a girl like that, sigh...

But I don't keep tabs on this kind of stuff...

Are there really no cute guys that play music? =[

You don't think Joshua Bell is cute?

What, are you straight? (Oh, OK. So am I. But I don't eat squirrels....)

M. Zehnder says:
I suppose Joshua is actually pretty cute =) I met a guy who looks like a cross between him and Tom Cruise today...way cuter but doesn't dress as nice =P

Is this Bell kid worth listening to? His album Romance of the Violin looks promising. I like when people do things like play a Chopin piano piece for violin, usually anyway =)

This thread has made me put Jansen on at the moment...

sigh...

cheers to love that will never be...

horrah! hoorah!

Hi... I admit Cavalli didn't float my boat either, when I had La Calisto on CD... and then I got the DVD. What a difference! And I also would like to hear more with Maria Bayo.

Too early in the morning for this....but how about Joanna MacGregor? Only video I've seen is some Bach Preludes and Fugues with interviews but she does Ives Sonata 1 and Birtwistle Clocks very nicely. Yup, nice dynamics and form- quite titillating really.
Finch- you are a sick man(?) Wanda Lanowska? Now you can add Murray Perahia to your list.

Edgar Self says:
Anyone remember Irene Pappas in "Antigone" and "The Guns of Navarone"? Ingrid Bergman in "For Whom the Bell Tolls", kissing Gary Cooper and wondering where the noses go? Vesalina Kasarova and Karita Mattila for great cheekbones, all four or eight of them. For geriatric hotties, Cathleen Nesbitt and Marie Ouspenskaya, everybody's Russian babushka, to join Wanda Landowska ... I wanda hughes kissinger now? To agree with Armida, I'll second Topi Lehtipuu and have seen him live, also the ever-descamisado Nathan Gunn and Teddy Tahu Rhodes. I'll have to check recent photos of Juan Diego Florez, who looked fine with Kasarova in "Cenerentola", although I only saw it twice, and not noticeably short at all (he may have been surrounded by some of Alonso's dwarves). Is his hair naturally curly, or does he perm like Sir Rattle? A tenor who jumps on top of a table from the stage-floor is rare. Anyone's free to marry Hillary Hahn who can prove that she's not botoxed.

Here's another Christine Schafer fan. I saw her performance of Lulu on TV and fell in love with her immediately. I have a dvd of her singing the Lulu suite (+ songs by Debussy), with Boulez conducting. She is like 8 months pregnant in that perfomance, and still incredibly hot. There is something in her face that reminds me a bit of the Grinch, but strangely enough it doesn`t bother me the least bit. I don´t like her Pierrot Lunaire dvd that much, though (I adore the piece, but found the mise en scène a bit kitsch).

Anna Netrebko is quite attractive, sure, but I find her singing and acting so cheap that I don´t really care for her looks. I´d still sleep with her, but only to tell my friends. I am that kind of a guy.

Hilary Hahn looks gorgeous in the booklet pictures of her Schoenberg/Sibelius cd. Since I am quite young, I wouldn´t feel guilty having an affair with her. Damn, she can play the Schoenberg. I can even respect her now.

What about composers? I like Kaija Saariaho. Check out the picture of hers on the cover of this album:

A Portrait of Kaija Saariaho

or this one:

Du Cristal a La Fume / Nymphea / Sept Papillons

(older and more sophisticated)

Saludos.

Finch ~ Scarecrow - Actually this thread came about from comments in the movies thread -and oddly enough - no one is listing pure movie starlets. As for musicians, I almost chose Hilary Hahn, Julia Fischer and Irene Pappas. Instead I went for a red-head, a blonde and a brunette; an English woman, an Asian-American and a Russian. Who knew Russia could be hot?

Helene Grimaud......Yeow! No wonder those wolves love her!

Top five "hotties":

1. Helene Grimaud.
2. Christine Schafer. Alonso, I hear you on the mise-en-scene of "One Night, One Life," but she does look great in it.
3. Anna Netrebko.
4. Angela Gheorghiu.
5. Cecilia Bartoli.

When I set the first post up I looked at Helene Grimaud but I did not think she was hot enough for you boys. Guess I was wrong.

I just looked at Angela's picture - she is pretty. That beitch!

Armida - yesterday you were swooning over Juan Diego Florez - today you are dropping him like a stone. After your swoon in the Ritual thread I had to see who you were talking about. Handsome, yes, and you would never know he was short by the album covers.

Sarah Chang is hot now that she's grown up and filled out.

And Anna Caterina Antonacci is incredible!

Cheers, Richard
