KenOC says:
Another great decade for Schumann, Chopin, and Mendelssohn! A few operas by Bellini and Donizetti as well as some Berlioz and Liszt. The thunderers lay in the very recent past and, of course, in the future. But the overall tone of this decade seems lyrical.

The rules, as ever:

- Vote up to twice a day, one-up two down. Down votes are obligatory and must be split.
- When two pieces are left, gamemeister's option is: one-up two down voting will continue, but down-votes may be blocked or split.
- Votes must be at least nine hours apart if on the same day.
- No proxy votes, advance votes, or vote banking.

Please remember to check AFTER you vote to make sure nobody has slipped in ahead of you! And see all the decade results at https://sites.google.com/site/kenocstuff/ama/best-works-by-decade.

This game is over.

Liszt Annees +
Norma, Paulus -

Pls. listen to this before voting down the Annees (at this stage) - it's among the most exquisite Liszt that there is (especially from 28:00, Vallee d'Obermann - the core piece of the Suisse year):

BTW, all please note who your vote follows so things can be sorted out (if necessary).

Berlioz Requiem + Bellini A & B --

I'd be backing you & Frank, HK, if I didn't have a battle of my own ;-) I must live with Berlioz on a different planet -- to me the Requiem is art while the other two of his entries are incoherent ramblings from our drug-induced trances...the difference between a gourmet meal and the munchies.

MZ double-dinged I Puritani...really, it's not *that* bad!

Bellini: "I Puritani" (1835) should be at 3.
