After the rough going of the first ten mins, it resolves into the increasingly joyous Xmas piece you might expect, and a grand contrapuntal mashup at that. I first heard it as the B-Side on a Supraphon recording at the library whose A-Side I don't recall. It's haunting and I don't know much else about the piece...I just love it and it brought be back to Honegger.
This recording amplifies the opening. Otherwise, that's so quiet you'd be lost for the first few mins.
