I sent my 8 month old Coach bag back to the factory with a check for $20 to cover their $9 return shipping fee and low and behold they returned the purse non repaired. Now keep in mind the strap tore. I didn't destroy the bag or have unusual wear and tear. Their recent poor quality and poor workmanship is not my fault. A $300 purse should be able to withstand normal use for 8 months. Why has quality and customer gone down so much in America?!

First of all, you purchased it from a Factory store. The quality isn't as good but they should have repaired your bag. I don't know why they wouldn't repair your bag. I've mailed my back and had them repair it for free but I did purchase from a full priced store. Sorry this happened to you. I would call customer service.

I have never had a problem when I returned a bag. In fact, they always send me a voucher for the full amount of the bag when it can't be fixed. I will agree that the quality of the bags is not as good as they used to be, but then again, they are now made in China. Bad move on their part. I quit buying at the full price store. Have purchased the last 3 at the outlet, and the quality is every bit as good. They do not sell seconds, the ones at the Outlets are just last season's styles that are discontinued. The one I'm currently carrying is from the Outlet and is holding up better than the ones I purchased at the full price store.

I had this happen to me as well. The strap on my purse broke and I brought it into the outlet store and they sent it out to get fixed. However, they were not able to fix it and they did not send it back to me. Instead, they kept the purse and gave me a gift card for the amount they felt was reasonable...

I did the same thing and they returned it with a letter saying they couldn't repair it. Well, why have a Repair service listed. I was so annoyed.

I have had Coach bags for years, I remember having a change purse repaired in the 1980's; I still have it. Two years ago I put purchased a cross body bag for the summer at an outlet store, it still wasn't cheap. It was rarely used, just for when I wanted to be hands free. Whenever it rained or was foggy, the blue dye from the bag would get on my clothes. Three clothing items ruined before I decided to go to the Coach store to see what can be done. Very nice employees, yes they said, Coach stands by their bags...

Four weeks later bag is back, no repair, no problems found, a letter offering 40% off any full price retail only purchase. I called customer service--they determined there was nothing wrong with the bag. Coach, I have never had a bag's dye run on my clothing, no matter what the brand. Tricky about your changing the meaning of "lifetime" to 2-3 years. Very disappointing experience, I won't be fooled again.

I have a Coach Bag and hate the shoulder strap. It is too wide and won't stay on my shoulder. Is there any way to change straps? Something more narrow or a chain/leather combination would be great. It has buckles for the present strap.

My son purchased a $600 briefcase from a Coach retail store. The tab that held the handle on the briefcase broke after he'd owned the bag for 15 months. There was no other wear and tear on the bag. Coach refused to fix it. He is a young professional and saved to buy that bag. I am furious that Coach refuses to stand behind their products and we will NEVER purchase another coach bag. We wrote to Coach and haven't heard anything back.

I have a beautiful black Coach handbag, received for my 60th birthday, with magenta satin lining.Hoping to use it for many years, it's Coach!!!! Only 2 years old, I do not use it everyday, I alternate several hand bags. After one year all the seams in the lining started turning dark, always looks dirty when I have it open at a counter, etc. I figured it out that some sort of adhesive used on the leather seams started to come thru & stain the lining. Looks awful. It was returned as non repairable with a coupon for 30% off at a Coach retail store. Void after 60 days!! Why would I rush to buy another Coach bag after being so disappointed? ? I am sure that Coach won't miss me as a customer! Do people really spend so much money for a bag that doesn't wear as a quality product??? PLBrown

I sent back a classic full leather bag for frayed binding. they sent it back ! The quality of their bags is not what is use to be, but at the time I bought this bag, they were guarenteed for life.

I used to love Coach bags. They've gone downhill big time. Customer service is horrible. There are many hand bags that are just as nice at half the price. It's sad. I loved buying good quality bags that always looked good. Coach is now selling their label, and that's going down the tubes quickly. They don't seem care.
