I go to MCC and I was told by our tech dept that they don't give out .edu email addresses for students, I would imagne this is the case for Tunxis as well, as we are apart of the CT Comm. Colleges Consortium. Sucks because there are lots of student advantages we can't take advantage of because of this.

I have same problem with a community college. They do not give out .edu email addresses. They require student to provide their own. I am surprised the college is in the list of named colleges that supposedly qualify. Maybe only the staff and instructors are able to get this discount at that point. Why would that make sense if it is "AMAZON STUDENT"?

same issue here, I got to CSUB in Bakersfield, CA and they do not provide a student email for students. My school email, which I provided my own ends with @live.com.. i thought Amazon was smart enough to know not every school has a .edu email.. some school provide email but sometimes end with a .net, or a .ca.. When Dell was giving out xbox's with laptops, they had an option of calling them to confirm they are a student.. sucks here..

I had to do some digging through my school's website to find mine. We have gmail boxes with "myschool.net", but there is a way to use the .edu also. I think I might have found it in the gmail settings but I'm not really sure, it was over a year ago.

my school doesnt give them out but you can do it without an email. You have to email amazon proof that you attend school to wherever you go and a few more things just ask them about the "alternate way" it is very hard to find on the website. I had to call and ask them how to do it. Hope this helps

agree. and if that dosen't do it for you, then just pay the $79 bucks for the reg. Amzn Prime, and add some friends to the list and just have them pay you a small fee for shipping. That would still be a cheaper way to buy textbooks than going to the bookstores.

I go to community college too, and I just emailed amazon and said that my school doesn't give out .edu email addresses, and asked if they had an alternate way to register for it. they gave me instructions to provide proof that I'm a student, and then they registered me for amazon student

Like Melodie Sun said, you can contact Amazon and tell them about your problem. They will ask for a proof that you're currently a student (they have a list that you'll receive) and if you can provide a proof, they'll register your account.
