There is so much great chillout, ambient, dub, downtempo, lounge, new age and meditation music to explore, that it would take lifetimes to get to it all ! To help streamline the process, I thought it might work for people to post their album pick of the week, and the one with the most votes gets a special mention at the end of the week. For example, my pick of the week is "Mirror System", the self-titled debut of Steve Hillage's new band(2005).If this thread lasts a week, I will post the results. If the same poster picks the same album more than once, it will count as 1 vote. As Capt. Picard would say: "Let's see what's out there"...

I downloaded the Celtic to Classic - Relaxing Guitars (Exclusive Amazon Digital Sampler) back when it was free. Very nice! A nice variety of songs, chill, a little bit new-age, great for background music for studying.

"Bright Black Morning Light" by Bright Black Morning Light is really moody and vibey. Although they describe their music as being "Southern Psychedelic Rock," I beg to differ. It's more groovy and ambient than it is anything else and I discovered it while in a CD store that was playing it over the speaker system. I INSTANTLY bought it! It's GREAT and after a long day at work on the phones, it's the perfect chill-out for me. Check it out! :-)

Just a few I been listening this week and recommend to instrumental chill-out fans

1) Pete Namlook and Atom™: Jet Chambet 1 and 2...Spacey deep ambient with fragmented techo-ish bleeps/rhythms blended with much tech wizardry. Hypnotic technical marvel in futuristic ambient. LIMITED TO 1000 PRINTS.
2) Move D/Pete Namlook: The Art Of Love, Taygete, Stranger I, Dawning Of A New Decade, Sons Of Kraut, There!, Space And Time, Wired; Albums use elegant chilled fusions of ambient, tech-house, deep-house, jazz, techno, Idm. LIMITED 2000 PRINTS
3) Atom™ - 1i3835tra3um3 (Original Soundtrack)...Abstract, ambient, gentle bleeps, future sparse jazz featuring the saxophone, and even acid all merge while changing & fusing together continuously into a single listening experience. A album of throughly elegant with deep cinematic sounds, leading the listener through all sorts of emotions
