Needing some help with finding a mid-range camera (not DSLR) for taking pics of a family with young kids (2 under 2y). Something not too big, fast shutter, can take pics in low light, all with decent quality. I know it is a lot to ask.
I recently bought and am planning to return the Sony Wx10. The pic quality is mediocre. My Android phone seems to take more natural and crisp looking pictures. It is light weight, takes good low light pics (actually some of the best in the pitch dark (!!), and has a pretty quick shutter speed. The deal breaker has been the Software program. The video format is Sony's own format, which allows no other way to transfer the video clip from camera to computer other than using their own "PMB" program. The PMB program is the deal breaker. I just want to be able to transfer all my pic/videos all in one motion (all I have time to do), not tangle into programs and software to do this, and then needing to convert files, etc. From what I have learned of the WX10 in the last couple days, Sony's format makes that impossible for videos to work without Sony software.
1) Camera recs?
2) Do all Sony cameras require software to transfer pics and videos now? For that matter, do all newer digital cameras require software to transfer?
3) Can anyone convince me to keep the Sony Wx10?
