Personally, I bought the T1i, because the difference in improvements didn't justify the cost for me. I used the extra money and got myself the Sigma 18-200 AF OS. I'm happy.

Just get a T1i body and a good megazoom. You'll still be better off.

I will add my two cents.

I hate the kit lens. But I love the 55-200.

Between that and the 50mm 1.8, I'm super happy with my setup.

I think I read your same post somewhere else.
I don't shot canon, except for my old powershot, so I don't know those lens very well. Label them Vr, Is or F(aperture) and I can say better.

When I bought my kit lens for the Nikon d40 I got the basic 18-55 and the 55-200 zoom (plus it didn't have VR then so it was useless at 200mm zoom without a tripod). After awhile I got better lenses and just never used the kit at all.

I say get the 18-135 for 979, not sure if it is Vr or IS version. Switching a walk-around lens of 18-55 and 55-200 will drive you nuts and bananas. It took me a few months and I ran out and got the 18-200vr f3.5. I am in architecture, so I like wide angle of the 18 and 200mm of the detail of the building. Plus VR will get you those shots I lost on my 200mm of the (55-200) Later on, add some prime lens to your collection and a macro. The 18-135 might not have the mega zoom, but 135 is pretty good and you don't have to switch. Maybe buy a body and get the Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC AF OS (Optical Stabilizer) Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras

Nikon sell the 18-105vr f3.5-.. as a kit lens on the D7000, it sells the 18-55vr and 55-200vr f3.5.. kit lens on the entry level d3100. I would assume the 18-105 has more value and that is the truth.

I can buy a Canon T2i with a 18-135 for $979, or the T2i with a 18-55 and a 55-250 for $859. Both on Amazon, Is the 18-135 worth the extra $$$
