Will lenses work from my Rebel to t4i?

I have a digital rebel xti, and did purchase a t3i that I received and the lenses look compatible. But, I have since researched into the t4i and want to return the t3i for the t4i, will my zoom lense from the rebel work with the t4i? I know the new lenses have some new benefits, but just for basic picture taking and for action shots, will they work? Will the t3i lense work?

Thank you!

The T4i IS a REBEL...

ALL digital REBEL bodies can use EF (full-frame/film) and EF-S (APS-C only) lenses.

Also, All x0D -- except the 10D -- also use all EF and EF-S lenses. (The first digital Rebel came out between the 10D and 20D releases, and EF-S came out with the Rebel)

The 7D also uses EF and EF-S lenses.

NO full-frame or APS-H Canon uses EF-S lenses, only EF work on those.

Neo Lee says:
T4i will take EF and EF-S lenses. Your T3i kit lens is an EF-S.

Yep, you're good to go. Just one thing in case you're using the old Rebel XTi 18-55mm kit lens - the new 18-55mm kit lens on the T3i and T4i is an improvement over the old one. Its sharper and it has image stabilization which can help combat blurring in low light situations (if your subjects aren't moving).
