Why are some people so freaked out about magic in Disney?

Almost every Disney movie has had magic in them. (And a little blood) Almost every villain died. It's really nothing new. I was looking at the reviews for The Princess and the Frog and some were freaked out of their minds about the voodoo. Seriously.

You've got to admit they over did it a little. I don't see how any kid could walk out of that movie not afraid of shadows. Living just out of New Orleans, I can take a rather lot of stuff like that, but they didn't need to go that far. The rest of the movie was great, granted, but the graveyard scene...
Another point: People got used to "magic". In this movie it's "voodoo". Not quite the same, and I think that throws some people.

Well, considering Voodoo/Hoodoo/Voudou centers around Catholic/Folk Magic/Witchcraft relations, practices, and spirituality, (Voodoo's that is), it shouldn't be any to "worry" about.
My gracious, look at the Harry Potter films? "The Craft", "Charmed", and many others...
To the paranoid, oversensitive crowd, I say, 'clean your own house, before stepping outside your own territory, and into someone else's, with a dust mop in your hand.
Get my drift?

BTW, Maleficent, from "Sleeping Beauty", makes the Queen from Snow White, Ursula from The Little Mermaid, and many others, ...long to short, Maleficent makes ALL other Disney villians look like bumbling sorceresses, with the likes of "Aunt Clara" from Bewitched, bless her little black heart.

Maleficent=Magnificent Malevolence. And truly deserves the name. Evil to the core.
And my all time favorite.
The others pale in comparision. And this was LONG before the whole Harry Potter paranoia.

Hey, just my 2 pence.

Oh, forgot to mention. I'm a witch.

Because some people are superstitious and/or stupid?

Yes, it was a little scary, but they're looking at it though the eyes of an adult. Is it really any different than Maleficent, Ursula, or Scar? Besides, I bet a lot of those "concerned" parents let their kids watch Harry Potter, Power Rangers, Sponge Bob, or some other Nickelodeon/Cartoon Network JUNK. Can we talk about how bad it is to let you kids grow up watching that ****? They're just scared of what they don't understand.

I'll bet it's the religious zealots are the ones most pissed about the voodoo...they are notorious for over-reacting. Religious kooks, they will always be there. And it doesn't really matter WHAT religion they are....there are kooks amongst ALL of them!
