Please suggest a machine that would allow me to tape my 8mm video tapes and VHS tapes to DVD. Thank you.

I dont know if this is the EASIEST way but a dvd recorder (can be had at a pawn shop or on ebay for next to nothing nowadays). When you hook up the external cables to the dvd player/burner, select input one (or whatever imput it is where you hooked up the cables) and hit record.

Amazon, bb and walmart all have software that would allow you to hook your camera into your computer so that your computer can capture the video. A few years back I purchased DVD express and it came with an adapter thing that was great (slow).

If none of these work take your tapes to Murphys or walgreens and allow them to make the tape for you. For $29.00 they make you a dvd up to two hours long and then you can copy that dvd to your hard drive and make the edits there.

P. Strong says:
Sony makes DVDirect Recorder (sold here on Amazon for about $279.99) that will record 8mm tapes from a camcorder. You only need the input cables (red, yellow, white), that came with the camcorder.
