Dear readers and forum browsers, I am in desperate need of a new series/ book to read that is well written, exciting with some romance thrown in there. I liked Iced by KMM and the Fever Series alot. I like all of Richelle Mead's books as well as Cassandra Clare. I am not looking for a Dark wHunter series or Christine Feehan or bbooks like that. I don't mind Nalini Singh and the Belador series. Any recommendations

Maybe try something by Guy Gavriel Kay: Tigana or A Song for Arbonne are good places to start.

Well, there's always Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series - Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, Book 1).

Or Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series - Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, Book 1)

Or Allyson James' Stormwalker series - Stormwalker

Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series - Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress)

All excellent series.

I second the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs

but you could also try Laini Taylor's 'Daughter of Smoke and Bone" (with the second book either just or almost out - must check!)

I agree whole heartedly with M. Carole about Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series. She is one of my absolute favorites. She also has a Moirin Triology that is good. You can also try Anne Bishop's Black Jewels Trilogy, it's a little dark but very good. Jennifer Fallon's Tide Lords series and Hythrun Chronicles are awesome. Juliet Marillier's Sevenwaters series is also great. I just got done reading Lynn Flewelling's Tamir Triad and would definitely recommend it.

How much fantasy and how much romance do you like? Tina Wainscott (Jamie Rush) writes strongly on the romance side of paranormal fantasy, but her work is wonderful.

(Example of her style: On the Way to Heaven. A woman is killed in a car accident and wakes up in another woman's body.)

That sounds like a literary version of the TV show Drop Dead Diva... meaning I'm adding it to my list of books to check out haha.

Depends on how much romance you want... you could always go for the Laurel K. Hamilton stuff, and stop when it gets too squicky :)

I think Stephanie Rowe is pretty good, but she's got a good deal of romance in her writings - not the G-rated romance, either, if you know what I mean. :)
