Nice how you slipped that in twice. Once is enough - OR ELSE!

(I didn't mean this to sound like there were consequences if you mentioned the daily topic more than once - I meant AT LEAST once, or else)

And then we'll go back to the box

Or start a social thread that no one has the time or inclination to visit

Posted on Sep 20, 2012 7:23:58 AM PDT
That would be sad because it is hard to find people again and even if you run across an old friend somewhere else you can't interject a friendly hi, how are you into s more focused thread without causing waves.

I'm not sure it can be sung and it doesn't tell a story but it mentions all the needful things to keep the thread legit.

To all the elves I've met before,
How fare thee in the light?
Up above the clouds that soar,
Rise dragons in full flight.
Slumbering in the forests deep
Dreaming gnomes amuse the sight,
As bards seek inspiration for
Your eye's and ear's delight.

The elves are elfish, gnomes notice nothing, dragons are dragging, and bards are barking . . .

I've been revisiting Skyrim since the Hearthfire DLC came out and Skyrim is full of bards, one can even hire a personal bard, so I went looking for youtube renditions of a bardic tale other than Ragnar the Red which i've already posted. Here's one called the Tale of Tongues about Alduin's downfall with scenes from the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9C-fHbYDWBs&feature=related. I also found a cover of The Dragonborn Comes which is pretty so I'll give you 2 for the price of one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFSdu63JCEg&feature=related The music from Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim is done by Jeremy Soule and is really beautiful.

I was just checking my library's catalog...and SKYRIM (for the xbox at least) is no longer there. I'm wondering if someone stole it, claimed to have lost it, and paid the fine which would be VASTLY cheaper than even buying the game used. :-(

It happened again, I got lost on youtube and found this track of the main skyrim theme. It's amazing. It sounds like a chorus with and orchestra and it was done using multiple tracks of one singer and a violin then filmed. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=BSLPH9d-jsI

Good morning. What is Thursday again? I know I could look it up but lazyness is more appealing today.

There once was a dragon and his name was Bard,
Who found himself hoisted on his own petard.
Had a taste for gnomes, they were crunchy and sweet,
And their little pointy hats went down real neat!

Well, once upon a time Bard was takin' a nap,
When gnomish passer-by woke him up (poor sap!)
Bard was mad at being woken--he was peckish, too,
and a peevish, peckish dragon sure will make an end of you!

So down the dragon hatch went the gnome (named Paul)
Bard swallowed him up, yellow boots and all!
No longer was the grumpy dragon fit to be tied,
'cause he went back to sleep with his hunger satisfied.

What Bard didn't know was that Paul's best friend,
Was an Elf he had saved from a very bad end!
And Elves, you know, are a formidable sight,
And they're sure not likely to go down without a fight!

Well the Elf heard the news about Bard's indiscretion,
And that story left him with a very bad impression.
So he went to Bard's cave for to duke it out,
"Hey, you swallowed up my friend, you scaley lout!"

When Bard looked around with a drowsy eye,
The Elf sliced his nose off and he made himself a pie!
So let that story be a lesson to you,
If you swallow up a gnome, swallow all his friends, too!

Kindle, if you had noticed my verse spells Thursday and each couplet refers to the topic in that order. *pats self on back...takes bow...exits, giggling*

Joyce, I didn't see giggling as a topic for today. The rest was mighty fine.
