Authors, we need to be careful about promoting our books outside of the Meet our Authors forum, though I think that a thread like this is inviting people to share their own books as an offering. That said, if you head over the the MOA forum, you'll find a lot of authors whose work is available and where we can talk about our books with a little more freedom. There's an author who I'd recommend if you want something new and fresh. The first book is called A Hawk and his Boy, and reminds me of the Riddlemaster of Hed, though it's definitely it's own story, and very well written. I wasn't thrilled with the ending, which I thought was adequate, not extraordinary, but even so, it's still worth the read.

I apologize... I guess I misinterpreted the heading of this forum. I was responding to a question about a book of length less than 300 pages. Did not intend to step on any toes.

PLEASE stop self-promoting! Amazon's TOS only allow self-promotion in the MOA forum. Your post will be deleted, but in the meantime, please don't force all of us to read it, and lose yourself a bunch of potential readers in the process.

With all the multiple sock puppets promoting this book (which incidentally hasn't even been released yet) I've gone from "never buy anything from this author" to "Never again buy anything from Simon and Schuster". If I do see something of theirs I like I'll look for it in a used book store.

When my work first started to gain momentum I often wondered how people found it. It wasn't on the top 100 at the time. How do you find new artists?

The King's Man (The Chronicles of King Rolen's Kin) just came out yesterday. This is a side story to King Rolen's King (trilogy) by Rowena Cory Danielles. I really enjoyed the triology and I'm hoping she continues to write more and get a broader audience as I think the books are wonderful.

Self-promotion outside of the "Meet Our Authors" forum is a violation of Amazon's Terms of Service.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM AMAZON

Amazon Community Team says:

Amazon recently created a new community for authors. The `Meet Our Authors' community is designed to give authors a space to engage with one another and promote their latest and greatest works.

With the advent of the new community, we will no longer allow self promotional posts in other communities. Starting on Saturday, May 14th, all "shameless self promotion" activity will be limited to the `Meet Our Authors' community. Promotional threads outside of these forums will be removed.

We invite authors and interested readers to come join the discussion at:

http://www.amazon.com/forum/meet%20our%20authors

We look forward to seeing you!

Holly, it is really poor form to promote your own book outside of the "Meet Our Authors" forum. It's also against the terms of service (TOS).

Made through only the first two pages of the "Look Inside" before the purple prose and grammar drove me away. Sorry, needs editing

I thought having three different POV's in the first four paragraphs was literary genius (Emma, she, I).

Oh, I didn't look at The Amulet once I saw that it was being self-promoted. I was talking about the next one, "Maddox", whose author doesn't seem to understand possessives.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 10, 2012 1:31:31 PM PST
I think "she" was her mother, to be fair. So only two POVs.
