I believe this is the authors first book. The Trinity Signs Great story with a very fast pace. I'm not really one for books with pages upon pages of descriptions. I like a fast mix. The Trinity Signs does have religious tones to it, but I think that is why I enjoyed it so much.

I just finished Hell's Reaping (book one of the Apotheosis trilogy) by James Bishop and it was really great. The author has really done his homework with it and it is visceral and compelling. Check it out if you get a chance on Kindle (plus right now it is only $2.99).

J. Creffield says:
I'm currently reading Praetorian by Simon Scarrow. It's one of his excellent books chronicling the adventures of Roman soldiers Macro and Cato. I'm reading it out of order and have the earlier volume The Legion in my sites. Okay, so they aren't new books and they aren't fantasy either but I think people who enjoy adventure yarns will get a real kick out of them. In some ways reading really good historical fiction is a bit like reading fantasy, it takes you into another world.

Reckoning Dark Prophesy, from Molly M. Hall. Strong female character. Young adult. First in a trillogy. Really found myself rooting for the main character. It was a fun ride, with incredible potential for book II and III. A smart story with intelligent lead, leaves you craving more. When you love a story, but hate waiting for the next chapter, it's a winner, and this is a winner. Reckoning (Dark Prophecy)
