I am a 7th grade teacher and I am looking for an episode of a modern tv show that was based on a Greek Myth. Similar to how the Simpson's Treehouse of Horrors are often based on a famous poem etc. I want to use this episode was an example of how they can rewrite a Greek myth into a modern, or at least completely different version.

If you know of anything fun, PLEASE share. Also, if you could tell me the myth it references, that would be amazing. Thank you so much!

Nip/Tuck. The story line with Character Ava Moore and her son Adrian was a great example of the Oedipus complex.

You should be able to find tons of info on wikipedia :)

Oh, and if it doesn't just have to be a TV show, you can use the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou". More modern take on Homer's Odyssey.

Hope this helps.

I can't think of any TV shows at the moment but the way the video game "Dante" is being advertised makes it look a lot more like the twelfth labor of Hercules then part of the Divine Comedy.

You could always hunt down the old 'Hercules' episodes from the late 90's - but that's more traditional. Also, there is a new series on the History Channel called 'Clash of the Gods' - again, if you want something more traditional.
