Thank you. Yours was wonderful, too, Mary!

A little poem for MaryG
a lady who amazes me.
Her words paint pictures in my mind,
make magic fantasies of every kind,
make me laugh, and sometimes sigh
in contemplation as I question why
the world is such a complex place,
yet here we find a friendly face,
here within this simple thread
dreamed up inside our Mary's head.
I cannot thank her quite enough
for all the poetry and other stuff
that she and others bring to me,
so I say thanks, and so does B!

( I have taken a little liberty including B here, but I am fairly confident that he does agree with my appreciation of this thread and the wonderful things that are posted here)

A challenge has been issued
for "insults" that´s been brought
I will shout out:" NOT GUILTY"
your safety was my thought

A pitchfork filled with glitter,
that was your chosen arm
I just thought that was silly
´cause you´d sure come to harm.

A halo, not quite fitting
was placed above your head,
you thought that is was pretty
but won´t help light your thread.

My gifts were plain and simple
"not fitting for a gal"
But they are stout and lasting,
in use they´ll be your pal.

Now go and try them all out
and i will wage a bet
if glitter gifts are winners
i`ll let you have my head.

Oh Henrik you are kind indeed,
to give such gifts to a girl in need,
now I need a troll to hunt,
to prove the pitchfork isn't blunt.

I'll fool it with my halo gold
make it think I'm not so bold,
lull it with my angel dress.
make it think that I digress.

I'll dazzle it with the glittery one,
and while it's dazed i'll take a run
and poke it with the one you gave,
and then we'll see if trolls are brave.

So thank you for the gifts my friend,
so fit for the purpose we intend.
I'll use them wise, and use them well
if trolls come calling where we dwell.

A Woman's Work Is Never Done

The one on the couch, I cut off his head.
I bashed another in her bed.
A pointed stick that was a broom,
impaled one more in the living room.
Now to the basement with my gun,
just one quick shot and  housecleaning's done!

A whole day has passed without a word,
no rhyme, no reason, no voices heard.
the quiet and the solitude
leads my mind to think and brood
on what it is that brings us here?

Quiet it peaceful
Or scary, it's true.
But don't be sad,
And don't be blue.

Someone will come
Along and type.
Just hope it's not
Someone with hype!

(Hi, my lovely twin!)

Splinker says:
HUMANS BEING

Ahab curses God
Cusak holds up the boom box

A world wept on a stunning september morn.
Some danced.

A thousand promises made today
Some kept.

Love discovered
Love lost.

Two share the Sunday Times.
A quiet hour
A moment of reflection.

A child sleeps

We share ourselves
We hide from others
We hoard our worthless
treasures
We are selfish but
We are there for each other.

Sometimes we hold hands
on a very narrow bridge.
