Playing mp3's from the clould keeps skipping on me. Is anyone else having this problem. The problem is worst now since the last upgrade.

I've played a few MP3's from the cloud on my Fire with no problem. It might have something to do with your router. Turning it off and waiting a minute and then turning it back on might fix it, if so. I have do to that with mine now and then.

Also, my ISP gets terribly slow in the evening during prime time. Some evenings are worse than others. When it's at it's worse streaming just won't happen. You can run a speed test at speedtest.net when you have this problem and see if that might be it.

Streaming MP3 is a very lightweight thing to do so the odds are that it's not either of these things but they're worth trying because they're simple before you look any further.

You might also reset the Fire to factory defaults. That means downloading and installing everything again, which is a bit of a pain. Mine recently stopped staying connected to my router and resetting it fixed the problem.

I forgot to say that it also skips when I play local mp3s. It mostly happens when I'm on the web and playing music at the sametime. I had a Fire that I replaced that did the samething also.

If your other Fire also did that it's hard not to think that it's caused by something installed on your Fire. You might be able to test that by resetting it to factory defaults and then putting on some MP3 files and trying them. If they work okay then, add apps one at a time, testing the MP3 files after adding each app.

Or not. That's a lot of trouble to go to. But if you want to find the problem it might help you do it.
