Her work with Fairport Convention and after in her solo career was among the best among female folk rock vocalists. I guess there are not many people who remember her beautiful voice and performances? Her farewell performance (right before she died) with Richard Thompson and others from Fairport was a great way to say farewell! She does a lot of her songs fromn FC and the best of her solo career. It may be a bit hard to find this live album/CD?
I love Sandy Denny's work, too. What do you guys think of her work with Fotheringay? Their second album was released just a few years ago and and its cobbled together, unpolished quality did nothing to detract from it--I actually think it may have helped!
Her box set "A Boxful Of Treasure" is a good sampling of all of her work: solo and with The Strawbs, Fairport, Fotheringay, and The Bunch. It includes a great disc of demos and home recordings.
