This is an attempt to inform French speaking people living in the U.S. and others studying French language looking for new good fiction books on
The trouble with the "books in French" department is that a lot of books freely available on are packaged (badly, in many instances) and resold on Those books and a great deal of books for kids, learning French language and French/English dictionaries, are mixed with new fictions and thus hard to find.
I didn't see any possibility to select subcategories such as "mystery

Well, it is true that real new fictions in French language on are scarce, indeed. But let's make a try on the Amazon forum.
I start this list with the following, by alphabetical order:

For those looking for French books in the US, you would probably like many of the texts published by the Editions Tintamarre in Louisiana. There are numerous novels and collections of short stories written right here on American soil, in Louisiana, where French is not a foreign language. Alfred Mercier's Habitation Saint-Ybars is one of the very best of all American novels.

It's not new as in recently written, but I recently prepared this paragraph-aligned bilingual English-French edition of Poe's classic: The Purloined Letter -- English-French Parallel Text. Good for practicing either French or English reading skills.

You can now find my work, "After AIDS"

After AIDS (tome 1) (French Edition)
Le tome 2 est à venir.

Très bonne lecture à tous!

I am glad to see that people in the States are interested in french novels. May I suggest my own books ? I am a french mystery and thriller writer, with more than 20 books published by french publishers and book clubs, some of them were translated in Russia, Spain, Slovakia, etc. unfortunately not yet in english.
Last year I won the "Prix du Quai des Orfèvres" for my novel "Au pays des ombres" (not yet available on Kindle).
Right now, you can read "Teddy est revenu" (35 000 copies sold in several trade paperback edition and book club), "L'ombre de Claudia" (13 000 copies sold by "France-Loisirs", the main french book club, I don't have yet the bookshop results) and "Chutes mortelles" a short story collection not yet published in paper, as the market for short stories is quite small in France.
Some more titles are forthcoming. So, keep posted.
I hope you'll enjoy the reading.

Best regards to all of you who love foreign litterature, and thanks.
