I just started reading M/M books and I am desperate for books recommendations. I like books with captivity/forced seduction/rape but prefer those without the icky stuff (pee, poop, ick!). Explicit sex is a must, but I also like longer books with plots.

So far I've read and liked....
Concubine by Jill Knowles
Emperor's Wolf, Taken, and Wings by JC Owens

Please recommend books for me! I prefer those that are available for nook too. I have a week off work coming up and I'd love some new books to keep me company. Thanks!

I've read those too! Great m/m captive stories. Try these:
To Have and To Hostage by G.A. Hauser (older book, a good read)
Lethal Obsession: Caged by Michele L. Montgomery
That's What Brothers Do by Dericika Snake (might have spelled her first name wrong)

Those are the ones that fit your description that came to mind right off the bat. They are good, dark reads with HEA's. (Well, That's What Brothers Do left me disturbed, and I still think about the ending, but that's the mark of a good book to me.) :)

Cethe by Becca Abbott and Bloodraven by P.L. Nunn are two long novels with this kind of themes

I'd suggest "Spoils of War" by Kari Gregg. Short, sweet and quite beautiful - not a captive/captor romance but a captive/rescuer sort of thing. If you like fantasy a la "Lord of the Rings," you might try "Counterpoint," by Rachel Haimowitz. She's an outstanding writer. "That's what brothers do..." by Derikica Snake was a good story, if you're willing to overlook a lot of editing problems (I wasn't).

Thank you for all your suggestions so far! I bought Lethal Obsession and Counterpoint, and I'm hoping to get Cethe and Bloodraven next. Any more ideas?

Did you read Gaven and it's sequel Gaven2: The Bonding by JC Owens?
I liked both very much.

So I found a long sample of blood raven and it was amazing!!!! I also read Counterpoint and it rocked (though I wish the Prince had been a bit more masterful at times). I haven't read Gaven yet. Someone had mentioned that it's mostly a boy having tantrums, but if ya'll think it was good I think I'll get that too. I'm so happy with all these suggestions!!!! Thank you so much! Please, tell me any other titles ya'll can think of. I'm making a list and basically buying one a day.

Gaven and Gaven 2 are not about a boy having tantrums, they involve an older boy finding his way, he may be a little headstrong, but he learns from his mistakes and is punished for them, he is not spoiled just trying to find his way. These are excellent stories you can read again and again. J.C. Owens, the author writes mostly male/male capture, she also has another book throught Etopia Press called Taken which you may enjoy.

Bloodraven and Taken have been read, and now I'm almost done Gaven 2. These were amazing books!!! Please suggest more!

Also, anyone know of good authors who offer free books/stories? P L Nunn had some great ones on her site! It was an amazing chance to try out her style and read free stories :-)

You guys got me started reading captor/captive stuff again! I read "Lethal Obsession: Caged" and thought it was pretty good. Then I LOVED, LOVED "The Emperor's Wolf" - K.! I am SO glad you recommended it. I was just lukewarm on "Gaven", but I adored "Emperor's Wolf." I also read "To Have and to Hostage." That one didn't do it for me, but I really appreciated reading all the great recommendations! Great discussion. I think I'm addicted now...

:-) I'm glad you liked Emperor's Wolf! Wings is similar. It's short but a fun read. I just wish J C Owens had done a bit more, it could have used some extra pages. If you have a nook, B&N actually lets you read some of these books in store. I just discovered that and I'm loving it!

I'm sorry to pimp my own work, but I do offer a few books for free on my site. Also, these links may help you find some good writing:
https://www.smashwords.com/books/category/886/newest/0/free/any
http://reviews.logophilos.net/index.php/tag/free-writing/

Try to support authors who offer work for free by trying their pay to read books too, okay?

Where are the free books on your site? I just got on but I don't see a specific link or anything. Lovely site, by the way.

There are bits and pieces under the Pindone Files, Other Fantasy and Non-Fantasy

Thanks for the compliment!

LOL - I've been hesitating to do the same, although I have to say I was interested in this discussion because of my voracious appetite for reading slash. I actually have written a book that might fit the bill, but I'm not a great marketer (or should I say I'm always afraid of overstepping and trying to sell my own stuff). But The Dream of a Thousand Nights may fit your bill. It's not a straightforward captive/captor romance, since the captive lets himself be caught, but it's got some of the dub-con and S/M play typical of the genre. It's my first slash novel. Fantasy, erotic fairy-tale might best describe it.-Sarah

I like these:

They are definitely on the sweet end of the spectrum.

Per Ann, I did buy the one and only book of his available on Amazon. :-)

GA Hauser's Born to Please is my favorite of hers. No rape or kidnapping, but a great "gay dom seduces straight sub" story. No ick factor, and no big, annoying, cliquey "I've ALWAYS known I was gay" subplot. Prince of Servitude was really good too, THAT has more the forced, nc, kidnapping scenes.

I have to say, get Ann's book The Surrogate. It has the main males in servitude and a rape of one of the main characters. Most importantly it has a great story, and no filler sex just to have filler sex! I never heard of you before I read this story the other week and I'm looking forward to reading more stories by you.

I bought your book here on Amazon and it came with the sequel to the Surrogate that I'm reading now. I don't normally like menages (seems to be heading there in book two) but your set up in book one gives them a nice history and makes it more believable then some of the others I've read.

Very excited to have discovered you, and I probably wouldn't have if not for agency six. So a big thanks to them too for making me look for independent authors. :)

Hi, and thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you liked the book! What's 'agency six' if you don't mind me asking?

Oops I said six its really five. It was the Agency 5 higher prices on ebooks, making a lot of them more then their paper counter part. Since then, I've made a huge effort to find authors like you. I am thrilled to help support you guys, and I've found some great stories and new favorite authors I otherwise might have missed.

I've read a few M/M and the Surrogate was probably one of the best ones I've read. You only had sex where it made sense and pushed the story forward. I actually didn't have to skip anything or go.. OMG they are having sex again! hehe sorry a pet peeve of mine of late.. I recommended your book over on Mobleread forums for someone looking for a story like yours.

All and all it was a breath of fresh air and a very pleasant surprise. Thank you!
