I am looking at the Garmin 1450lmt. I know it is last years model but from all the posts it looks like a good gps to start with. My wife and I are going to europe and plan on purchasing the europe maps. I was going to get the dvd from amazon but when I talked to a garmin tech he suggested the memory chip. That way there would be no difficulty downloading to the garmin. When I asked him if it made a difference if I had a Mac he said that was not a problem. One thing I understand is I will have to get a blank memory card to use when updating the maps as the memory on the gps is not big enough. Anybody have problems using a Mac? Also is it better to get the memory chip or the dvd?
