Your Setup

What is your setup, and what do you want it to be?
Right now I'm using a Dean 3/4 size Dime, and no amp because my chord is messed up. I also have a Digitech RP6 pedal, which I can't use due to my cord problem. I soon hope to have a Fender Mustang III 100w amp, and an Ibanez RG321EWH. I might put some nice EMGs in it.

Actually depends on the gig. Guitars are usually a "parts" stratocaster I put together many years ago to have a Hendrix sounding strat that wasn't noisy at gigs, and a Les Paul Standard. If it's an outdoor gig I have a mid eighties JCM 800 50 watt 1 12" combo that I can stack on a 4 10" Marshall slant front cabinet if I want to. Indoor gigs are usually a Fender Blues Deluxe Fender Blues Deluxe(TM) Reissue, Tweed mine is a 90's model, not a mexican reissue, or a Marshall JTM 30. I also have a Vox AC30CC Head for the Marshall cabinet VOX AC30CC2 30 Watt 2x12 Custom Classic Combo Amp Electric Guitar Combo Amp This is the whole amp version. I have a lot of other amps and guitars but this is my "go to first" stuff. I made a pedalboard that has a Keeley Java Boost, a EH LPB-1, a Magnavibe vibrato pedal, Danelectro Chicken Salad vib, Boss T-3 tuner, Ibanez delay pedal, and finally a Boss digital Fender Reverb pedal. All are powered by a VooDoo Labs PedalPower 2.

My home rig starts with a modded G&L strat, played with a heavy pick (mainly), fingers, E-Bow and cello bow. That goes into a Boss GT-6 to a Boss DD-20 Giga-Delay, to an old Korg PME 40X with a Tone Shaper, Chorus, Flanger and Multi-Octave, to an old Yamaha SPX 50D. That goes into one side of a Boss AB2 channel switch, the other side of which I have an AdrennaLinn drum machine. Out of the AB2 I go into an old Oberheim Echoplex Digital Pro, to another AB2 that has a "clean" line and a line to a Elektrix Filter Queen, both of which go into an early 80's Fender Concert.
My "travel/jam" rig is the same up through the GigaDelay, then just a 60's Premier 8w amp that was tweaked a bit by Jack DeVille. I can keep up with bass and drums without going past 7 on the volume-that thing is the loudest 8 watts I've ever heard, and it is sweet.

I'm more of a bluesy player, so the all-tubeness of the amps gives me all the volume (and tone) I'll EVER need! Having said that, if it's more of a country-style gig, then my Fender Road Worn® '50s Telecaster® Electric Guitar, Blonde, Maple Fretboard and/or my Fender American Standard Stratocaster® Electric Guitar, Black, Maple Fretboard fits the bill better.

well currently i have a japanese made burny les paul custom which plugs into a bugera 1960 plexi head running through a power soak into a bugera 4x12 with some generic speakers. i have a boss me25, a super overdrive and a zakk wylde wah running through the effects loop. im hoping to expand soon by adding a vox ac15cc and running them so that an ab box puts it through the me 25 into the vox and the other line goes to the bugera with a delay, reverb, od, metal muff and wah through it. im also thinking about buying a fender classic players strat to get some jangly single coil tones. my travelling/ small gig rig consists of the same les paul as above with a 1980's roland cube 40 (before all their modeling stuff came out) and the me25. the amp is a mice solid state with a hihg and low gain input and works exactly the same way as a tube amp would (has a built in power attenuator and all). it pushes all its power through a single 12" speaker which has been worn out a bit and sounds amazing under some light crunch as well as heavy modulated distortion. i also tend to use a modified epiphone les paul junior with the roland in a practice situation to get amazing rock and roll tones out of the p90.

7 guitars, 2 bases, 2 guitar amps and 2 bass amps. The guitar amps are tubes and most stuff is "vintage" (I hate that word) do to the fact I have had it all for years. It depends on what I am going to do with it at any given time. Gigging, jamming and recording are different topics so take your pick. I can also borrow about anything I want from pals who have what I don't.
I use reverb only so effects are null.

Well I have a white Jubilee Series Marshall Full Stack from the 80's Hot Rodded with Groove Tubes and an all tube Fender Super Champ from 1977.ADA MP1 Preamp, Tom Sholtz Rockman Noise Surpressor,those are hard to find.Digitech 31 Band Equalizer,Rocktron Digital Delay.Old School setup but does the trick.Still have an MXR distortion pedal.

Guitar wise Kramer Baretta,BC Rich Gunslinger American made guitar from 1987
Kramer Focus 3000,Esp Mirage Custom from 1988,Kramer Nightswan Vivian Cambell model played once.Gibson Les Paul with a split flame maple top given to me by my uncle in 1978 I dont play this one worth some money.
I have an Ovation Acoustic 12 string for mellow stuff.

Acoustic I run with a Crate Durango 120 Watt and will sometimes add a couple Danelectro pedals (Slap Echo, Delay, Chorus) for fun. I generally play my Ibanex Exotic Wood and my Dean 12 string Exotic A/E's through it.
Electric, I run off a Kirk Hammett Randall Half with a bunch of effects, including the three mentioned before, 2 Zak Wyldes (wah and overdrive), a Grunge and a Rat Distortion (depending on the mood, the Rat is really more a Fuzz than a true Distortion), and a 10 band MXR EQ. As far as guitars, generally play an Epiphone Les Paul Standard and a Fender '65 Mustang. I'll be adding to this rig over the next couple months though. There are a few things I have earmarked (the Zak Chorus, Fullbore Metal, a couple others....would kind of like a Pitch Shifter as well).

I have a stock Epiphone Les Paul Custom 400, which is basically a three pickup SG, which I've had since around 2005.
My amp is a 15 Watt Orange Crush Reverb, which suits me fine, since I pretty much just bang away in the basement.
(When I turned 50, it was take up either golf or guitar. My exceptional lack of chops tells me I may have picked wrong!)

I have a Dunlop Jimi Hendrix wah, a Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal, and a strobe tuner. D'Addario strings, Monster cables and several dozen Rick Nielsen guitar picks.

I'd love to have a real Gibson SG and a Hi Watt amp, but for my talent level, this setup is more than enough.

I did forget about picks, but I mostly stick with Dunlop Nylons (.73 and .88).

No, not true. Epiphone was started by Greek luthiers in Turkey, making folk instruments, and was its own company, no connection to Gibson. In fact, Epiphone as a company predates Gibson by about 20 years or so. The two companies were rivals until Gibson bought Epiphone in 1957. Epiphone's Gibson designs didn't start until then; Epiphone had its own designs prior to the takeover.

The company that was started by ex-former Gibson luthiers is Heritage.

My current "go to" guitar is now a 2012 American Std Tele (Translucent Red w/ Rosewood neck, custom shop p/ups), my back up guitars tend to be either a 67 Harmony Rocket (with tune-omatic bridge & schaller tuners, stop tail, DeArmond pick ups that scream)
or 86 Les Paul Standard.
Amps - 50 watt Ampeg Super Jet with 1 12" Eminance Spkr, or Fender Deluxe Rev Reiss,
or Ampeg "hand wired" Jet that I use for practice (20watts) & can be used for small clubs

I dont use much in the way of effects, but I have an Ibanez Tube Screamer & a dan electro delay with "hi cut" to simulate tape delay...which is a nice sounding analog delay.
I'm thinking about using it live as the ampeg reverb isnt very good & I pulled the reverb out of my Deluxe (it was disappointing to see how cheap this so called tank was made..I remember the old metal cases on the silver & black faces...luckily the deluxe RI is a very good sounding amp & the tremelo works great on all my amps).

I read an article about Kalamazoo guitars in Vintage Guitar not long ago, ES. These were the Gibson 'beginner' line. They had one that was kinda like an SG or Melody Maker but was made out of compressed sawdust or something like that,,,a composite material. Actually looked pretty cool.

i almost bought a Gibson Sonix in the early '80s that was made out of this stuff (LP styled thing). Bought the Aria CS200 instead. Wish i still had it.

I am a gear whore and I own a bunch of other stuff but this seems to float my boat these days. Acoustic I play either a Taylor 310 or a Sigma Anniversary D10. As a beater I play a Silver Creek 160.
