Is "Liver Blindness" Curable?

In the book The Hibernation Diet the authors indicate that our medical fraternity is suffering from "Liver Blindness" especially with respect to the liver's role as a fuel source for a hungry brain. Their contention is that in tandem with the endocrine system, the liver storage of glycogen is crucial to our recovery processes and that compromised recovery processes are the foundation setting for most all our chronic disease, and especially the inability to lose weight.

"Blindness" sums up the all but complete ignorance or avoidance of the importance the liver is (via its glycogen storing capacity) in maintaining the blood glucose levels. Hence, the whole spectrum of fat storage and usage, glucose supply and regulation and energy levels is affected. It colours our interpretation of the information available in both sports and allopathic medical sciences.

They further elaborate on how natural honey is the fuel of choice to promote these recovery processes. Even mood, is affected via the eventual production of serotonin.

However, it is proving to be very difficult to convince our modern bio-chemical fraternity that these processes are functioning as these authors have outlined (or maybe we should say, NOT functioning, when disease is present).

It is somehow akin to the flat earth concept, in that most of our society is locked in to the old way of thinking. Is it possible without a generational change to get the "Church" to embrace what is to physiology what a round earth was to the ancients? Certainly it is easy for those willing to change and learn to embrace this new understanding and enjoy the improvement it brings to our individual chances of improving our general health.
