I just moved to college and the tap water in Tampa does not taste good! It smells and tastes bad. Im not afraid of bacteria, parasites or bugs in the water supply it just tastes horrible.
What water filter pitcher would you recommend? Since im buying one anyway i want to purchase a good one.

I recommend Clear2o water filters. This manufacturer does not necessarily dominate the market place but in my opinion they are one of the best. Since you are living in a dorm im assuming you probably want a pitcher or dispenser. Another good option would be any Pur filter. I pasted a link below that has a lot of good information. Good luck!

I'm looking into this myself, so here are some reviews of the best rated water filtration systems:
They rate Brita Aqualux Pitcher the best, and it costs under $30.
They rate Brita highest too, and mention that Brita is now recycling filter cartridges.

The Seychelle water filter pitcher is by far the best pitcher filter on the market. They remove more contaminants than any other and the filters last longer than others (150 gallons). They are also tested to NSF standards 42 and 53 and have been tested in 16 foreign countries. Seychelle Water Filter Pitcher

The Seychelle water filter pitcher is only marginally better than a Brita as far as I can tell

We use the least expensive Brita, the slim pitcher. It works just fine for us.
