Who diagnosed him? The physician should have referred him to a specialist for follow-up and treatment. He should learn relaxation and stress management techniques, and accept the fact that sometimes he's just going to need to rest. Try seeing if there is a CFS support group out there such as Yahoo.

This thread is very old, so I don't know if anyone is still reading or checking it, but for what it's worth, I have found that the PACE therapy works well, along with eating raw superfoods and taking herbal supplements. Pacing is basically using very structured time blocks to 'pace' yourself and your daily tasks without overextending yourself, and allowing rest periods in between. (very simplistic description, sorry)

i have posted many comments on the old thread./
my recent research has confirmed my previous conclusions.
fatigue is caused by low libido. low libido is caused by a blockage of psuchic energy.
there is absolutelu nothing whatsoever offered from modern medical science.doctors will be glad and very happy to take your money for the snakeoil they will give you in return.
avoid all doctors like the H1N1 death plague.
Read E Harding's Psychic Energy and all Jung's references to blocked libido.
This is a start on a long journey back to the health God wishes for you.
Education is the key the than open a door from darkness to light.
I have suffered from fatigued all my life now I am bursting with energy.
Ask my foreman at Valero Energy in Norco is you disbelieve my words.
*Paul has the energy of a 20 yr old*.
I am close to 57.
Have you ever heard the christians say *God uses science*,,as in operations on the body, pills, meds etc?
Not true at all.
God never uses science.
God uses wisdom as His agent of cure.
Jung tapped into wisdom.
Jung is in need of updates from from developements of the psyche.
The JungianISTS say *ahh , do not touch our sacred Jung*.
Thus the jungianISTS are dead.
fatigue can only be overcome by faith and staudy.
Only faith and study.
Never ever by *moden* medicine,
Avoid psychologists, like the plague of black death.

Hello. I had chronic fatigue syndrome for 18 years. A severe case. I had 21 of the 24 medical/physical issues involved in it. I educated myself and studied natural supplements and natural health. I was at the end of my rope. Finally I went on-line and looked up natural health practitioners who specialize in CFS. Dr. Fred Schultz of Center for Health and Healing in Wheaton, Il. cured me. He is the most brilliant and wonderful person I have ever met. (Must use natural health practitioner. Practical physicians don't have the knowlege or skill. They constantly told me it's all in my head and tried to push drugs, valium, prozac, etc., on me.) Basically treatment involves vitamins and natural supplements. Of course you need to eat healthy too. I saw and felt improvement in the first week, though I am unique. Good Luck all.

Here is you 30 days to completely get rid of chronic fatigue.
The reason you have fatigue is because your system is very acidic, has no oxygen, and is full of toxins. You need to do a detox diet as soon as possible.

No sugar, white flour, coffee, additives/preservatives/colors or meat products.
Drink 1-2 green smoothies per day (water, fruits like bananas and apple, spinach, and stevia/coconut sugar)
4 drops of food grade hydrogen peroxide in a glass of water 3 times a day.
50% of all your meals have to be raw meaning fresh salads/fruits/raw nuts.
2 teaspoons of bee pollen per day (provides all the vitamins, minerals, micro nutrients, and enzymes your body needs).
2 liters of water per day.

In just 2 days of this regime you will feel fantastic.
If you want to get more details check out the book "7 Steps to Health."

This is not the first time I have heard to eliminate sugar, white flour, coffee, meat products, etc. from our daily diet in order to restore a balance and become more energetic. The bee pollen and food grade peroxide are new ones to me, but I think it is worth a try...especially since you are to see an improvement in 2 days. I know I feel better after avoiding red meats and white flour products (bread, pasta...) and I can possibly stop drinking coffee. I cannot say I have CFS but I can confirm I am exhausted at all times, I wake up feeling totally spent. Perhaps coming across this Health Forum on my favorite site, Amazon, while searching for a vitamin is one of those coincidences that were meant to be. I think I will give this a try.

Great to have helpful post here.

I can't enjoy raw honey or manuka I think its called, because I have such bad allergies and hay fever that it makes me very ill.

I do try to build up resistance by including a bit of honey in my NRG Tea sometimes, but I would be very hesitant about trying the 30 day program exactly as you set it out Max.

I heartily recommend eating organic, and raw as much as possible, and no meats, very little dairy, as I already do that. But that is not a 'cure' and it will not make CFS go away in 2 days - or 30 days lol!

I wish it was that simple, as none of us would be on this forum needing any further help.

I think you will find that nutritional therapy is the one thing that 99.99% of people with CFS have already worked out is key to them being able to enjoy any quality of life at all.

In one way or another we have all actually become a bit of a "health nut" compared to the rest of you ... eating really healthy nutritious low fat foods, and quitting our bad habits like smoking cigarettes or alcohol, and we tend to live a healthy and very quiet lifestyle!

If we didn't already have CFS we would be considered very energetic health freaks - lol!

I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to have long-term full-blown CFS and to try eating only a poor diet of fast food rubbish... nope, can't imagine it.

Way to go, H. Malmsio!

The hardest part of it all is that we want it to go away immediately so we can go straight back to our old lifestyle. If one works out how long it took to get into that condition, maybe we wouldn't be so disappointed when we discover it will take much longer than expected to rectify it. And returning to the lifestyle and food habits that caused it, will only bring it back again.

In the book The Hibernation Diet The McInnes team use the term 'Tired All The Time' (TATT). If one wants to allow that basically we are talking the same language here, just with little accent changes, then you see why I recommend that book. It strikes me as unfortunate that this book is so focused on the weight management market, as the secrets revealed in it are very `whole-body' effective against much more than just weight management problems.

The same authors teamed up with Dr. Fessenden to extend these principles to include most all our chronic diseases. The book The Honey Revolution encapsulates these extensions.

Basically what they are telling us is that our sugars intake is at the very heart of most all our chronic problems. Sure, acute disease is not what we are discussing here, but suffering all of one's days half alive just to avoid acute disease seems counterproductive. But the truth is, we must have sugar........... Without glucose to the brain we are dead in a matter of minutes. So rectifying our sugar metabolism clears the path to more energy, better health, better mental attitude etc.

I don't think I am guilty of promising anyone the miracles some seem to say I tout for honey. Honey may stop a headache or toothache in a flash, but when it comes to long term lethargy, please allow for the new diet, the new exercise regime and the disciplines involved to become the new way of life, not just an emergency stop gap to prevent death.

I like to put up the honey flag straight away, as that usually flushes out some controversy, and who wants a boring thread? But honey is only the hinge pin in my tool box of health remedies, as it is in the two books referenced above. But see it as gas in the tank as you chug along the highway towards getting your engine repaired. Not many folk repair their engines on the roadside, but when there is no gas in the tank, getting anywhere at all becomes impossible.

Honey is not only guilt free, non-fattening, non blood sugar spiking, etc., ad nauseum, but it also enhances mental acuity, will power and the functioning of our glands. In other words, it feeds us and promotes healing at the same time.
