Anti-Radiation Health

I don't mean to be an alarmist, but I do believe in being prepared for any likely crisis. Japan's Fukushima is in triple-meltdown, and airborne and seaborne radiation is reaching the Pacific Coast. There was also a "severe nuclear event" at Palisades Nuclear Reactor in Michigan last week - one of the four worst embrittled reactor's in the country.

So whether it's radiation from Japan, or leaks from our own homegrown and aging nuclear reactors, people need to take this into account as they watch their health. Radiation pills are said to be flying off the shelves in places, but a more sustained anti-radiation diet and lifestyle should be considered in today's Nuclear World.

THE ANTI-RADIATION DIET

There may be no "nuclear safe zone" in our world today. But at least we can change our diets to include some items known to flush radiation from our bodies.

MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH - 2011/2012 POTASSIUM IODIDE FACT SHEET AND VOUCHER
Apparently the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has given out free KI tablets - at least in Michigan - for people who live or work within 10 miles of nuclear power plants. The tablets only protect the thyroid for 24 hours in the event of a radiation leak, and can be acquired by voucher at specific pharmacies.

If you live or work within ten miles of a nuclear power plant, check with your Community Health Department to see if these pills and vouchers are available in your area.
