abdominal hernia

I have an abdominal hernia the size of half of a watermelon. Thank goodness I'm a woman, so I can wear maternity clothing. The surgeon said last week that surgery would be too risky. (He'd have to connect the mesh to both the backbone and the ribs, and I'm not a candidate for general anethesia.) I'm afraid that it'll get even bigger. Is there any kind of...girdle? Something? I can wear? I do wear an abdominal support. I wear it 24/7. Help!
