I just saw this too and thought it was pretty impressive, but......

I sure hope that artists don't start skipping out on live shows and just send their hologram in their place. That will be they day I stop going to shows....

I didn't watch the performance, and I don't want to. Everyone gets upset when some booty posthumous album drops; this is taking it to another level IMO

I'll peep this at home.I have mixed feelings about it. I smell exploitation in the future.

I thought the video was dope, but what's next? Why even have artists? Some artists already use ghost writers, so why not add a ghost to go with it. I could see the industry doing this. Why pay an artist, and promote them when they could just be built by the marketing team? There will be no unforeseen issues with the artist or their work, because they don't exist.

Evil Lynn makes a good point, now that i gave it more thought,

-When do you think the government will start using this? [on TV and stuff]?
-Imagine this technology in 25yrs?
-Artists can now be in 2 places at the same time, who would even notice?
-Who is next? Biggie? Nate Dogg? Big L? oh wait, Amy Winehouse?..etc[insert your imagination here], Personally, i think it even reduces the worth of humans further, think about it for a minute.

Now its cool and all, but one thing about humans, is that, we never know when to draw the line.

Dang good points Lynn & Real. I agree.

It's really cool from a technical standpoint. I mean, this is the kind of thing you used to see in dystopian and science fiction movies back in the 80's, and now it's 100% reality. I'm not going to say it's offensive or sacrilegious, because I don't think it necessarily is. It was a legitimate tribute to the artist, and there's nothing wrong with that. What I'm concerned about is this technology reaching a point where an imitation of humanity becomes more than just a neat gimmick.

With Dre playing a part of this event does anyone else foresee NWA doing a show with Eazy? I'm sure this technology costs a lot for just doing that much with Pac but wouldn't it be nice to see Eazy, Cube, Dre, Ren, (Yella might have a problem with it) just do a 30-40 min set?

M. Clifford says:
At the same time I kinda don't wanna see this stuff get outta hand, especially with deceased artists. Makes me wonder if their families would really approve of this. I would think they'd just want to let them RIP.

I thought it was cool but it will mos def open up a whole new can of worms....... Who gets paid from this, what now bring back all dead artists, shoot use live if they can't make a show... Here is the thing I bet this cost some loot so only the elite will be able to do this....... Seeing pun, biggie or big L would be dope for me..... My boys were at this and said it was unreal......

I like the technology. I read online the price was $100k - $400k. Which i thought was extremely cheap for it. I wonder how it actually looked live. I know what's going to happen is people are gonna start using cheaper versions of the technology and just make it look like crap. But only time will tell.

I don't know how to feel about this "performance" at Coachella. It was just weird to watch from my point of view.

I finally was just able to see this video. Wow it's awesome. Of course there may be moral or legal questions. But the performance itself by the 3D Pac was awesome. Technology is getting amazing.

LOL so wheres the hologram for Big Pun, Big L, ODB, Aaliyah,Biggie, Left Eye, Guru, Bruce Lee, Brandon Lee, Heavy D, etc, etc, etc...?

illstatic says:
LoL & I should have known this tupac hologram was gonna lead back around to the whole NWO/illuminati talk. theres several vids on youtube referencing the pac hologram as "satanic" technology.

DL says:
The crazy thing is that they said that was not just based off of some previous 2pac performance, but that it was actually new. They could make the 3D Pac do anything they wanted him to. It's insane. We could watch Bruce Lee in his prime kicking some @ss right in front of us. I'm sure people would pay a lot of money to go see these kind of performances.

Real217 says:
They said they have someone, do the choreography, and then they match the moves with the digital rendition of Pac. So someguy was the one actually doing all those moves. So technically its not a hologram.

For Bruce DA lee, they would first have to find some Martial Arts dude who is actually as bad as Bruce Lee, which i doubt. lol

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 22, 2012 10:55:57 PM PDT
DL says:
Yeah they specified its not actually a "hologram". Well whoever was doing the motions, it was pretty believable as Pac. Bruce Lee doing martial arts moves would definitely be harder. With all the attention this brought, I can definitely see people persuing this further. It really is an interesting topic. If Pac had some kind of conciousness in the afterlife, do you think he would approve of this?

I really don't see the big deal about it. Saw it on youtube like most people i believe and I don't see what all the fuss is over.

I kinda doubt he'd be cool with it. If u listen to his postmortem compilations, he was angry wit Snoop AND Dre in the months prior to his death. My opinion is that hologram was wack sauce for Dre and Snoop. The Almighty knows best.
