Just saw this on hiphopdx,

Well, i like Jean Grae's music, so it goes without saying that i'll check this out when it comes out, one interesting thing is she really looks physically and emotionally worn out. I feel kinda sad for the lady. Is it the interview? was it after a show or what? She's drinking vodka out of a water pistol.. [really?], and she has this body and neck full of tattoos. (for a male rapper, i'd probably feel differently i'd admit, but i still dont like tattoo overkill).

Simply put i'm not really feeling the whole look but I guess she's doing her thing in which case its cool. She's talented and i really wish she'd get even a miniscule amount of recognition for her work.

Oh, i forgot, by the way, nice rack.

Lmao @ Vodka pistol. Jean is crazy like that. The last interview I saw of her, she was drinking vodka straight from the bottle. I can't believe she got tatted up either. All that ink is gross for men and women imho. She does look like she been through some hell (either that or drinking all that vodka is catching up to her).

Lately rappers have definitely stepped their game up, and I find myself paying full price for a lot of music these days (digital and physical). After watching the trailer, I've decided that Cake or Death just might be one of those albums.

Jean Grae is really good mad respect for her, But I heard another artist I think is hands down probably one of the best EVER. His name is Dagoldenchild from Houston....the name of the cd is This Means War. I copped the cd on accident from my homeboy who said I needed to check him out. So I hesitantly put the cd in because most of the new stuff I heard was trash. I listened to the cd without having to skip any tracks which I havent done in years. By listening to the cd I understood what happened to him as he had been screwed over by the industry but the difference was he had actual conversations to back it up on the Cd. Incredible! Then my homeboy told me he was a white boy and I fell out of my seat. This Means War check it out you wont be sorry

What year are we in?

I like Jean Grae. She could have gotten more creative with her tats, though. Inking a medically accurate diagram of your viscera onto your abdomen would be pretty cool. I'll be checking out the new album for the Antoinette reference alone. Anything to hold me over until Liquid Swords 2 drops.

"Dagol Den Child"

Probably Da Golden Child. Not a wise name. It's like Nunslaughter. What's keeping it from being read as "Nun's Laughter"? Nothing.

Actually, I did check out one track called "Never". It was... OK, I guess. Nothing anyone but a close friend or relative would purchase. He's not bringing anything new to the table. Frankly, the music's not that bad, it's the GALL of "John Bruce", whether that's an affilliate of the artist or the artist himself, to speak of an underground mixtape as though it were the second coming of Illmatic just to get attention. It's disrespectful to the game and a slap to the face to respected rappers whom have actually experienced the gamut of "coming up". I mean, I'm usually pretty cool about checking people's music out. If you say "hey, I got this mixtape. It's my first go at this, and I'd really appreciate feedback if you have the time to listen to it", then alright, I'd be glad to do that. Come to me talking like a car salesman, blowing smoke at me? "Yo, this is the dopest album EVAR; this will singlehandedly change the game!"... child, please.

I'm also the same way about new music, new books too. I get that everybody is trying to get out there you know, and its difficult, but in my experience, empty vessels make the most noise..
