A great newly published author who has now 2 Historical fiction romance novels set in Lancaster, England, UK in 1800's and a 3rd romance set in the West Indies, is author Christine Haile. One of the reviews, on even compares Christine Haile's writing equal to Catherine Cookson and I must agree, all three books were compelling to read.
Molly's Daughters This book I had to read from start to finish in one go.
A Shadow of Lavender Incredible details and imagination, both these two books you could imagine being there in Old England 200 years ago.
November Remember Beautifully written romance set in the West Indies, modern day, telling a romantic story and of the tragedy of living through a terrible Hurricane.

Jenny says:
If you like Jane Austen, "Friendship and Folly" by Meredith Allady is a great read, and very clean.

Maxed-out says:
If you liked "Killer Angels" you also like "Cain at Gettysburg" by Ralph Peters

Cain at Gettysburg

"Surpasses Michael Shaara's classic The Killer Angels...a brilliant portrayal of how the Confederate infantry felt...In fact, brilliant is an adjective one is tempted to wear out in describing this book..."

If you are interested in a cross-cultural romance, set in British India of the early twentieth century, you may like to have a look at Wings Of Freedom. It has good reviews (4.4 stars).

My wife, Anna Trogonoski, has written a very good historical fiction book ("Elizabeth, the Crimean War Nurse") that is set during the Crimean War. If you enjoy classic literature, this book should appeal to you It is available for your Kindle for only $0.99.

Linda -- Miss Gone-overseas is an inexpensive e-book. A first person narrative set during WWII. The surprise is that the narrator is a Japanese woman on a Pacific island. It's a short novel and I was kinda reminded of Memoirs of a Geisha -- it's that good!

Lee says:
The best one I've read is The Titanic Plan. Very appropriate now, though the fascinating story has as much to do with what lead up to the Titanic as it does the actual event -- that's what makes it interesting. Nice writing, very engrossing and fairly eye-opening.
