What to read if I love Julie Garwood Historicals?

I "grew up" on romance historicals like Julie Garwood, Johanna Lindsey and Judith McNaught. But since they've sort of laid off the historicals, I haven't found that author I adore as much. I would stay up all night to read their books. That sexual tension, suspense, life or death situations and romance was amazing! And the heroes...loved them! So any recommendations for authors similar?

Hi Lori,
Huge fan of JG's historicals here. I think you might like Hannah Howell, Sara Bennet, Paula Quinn and Kinley MacGregor. Lots of hot hero's and heroine's you can like.

Those 3 have been among my favorites for historical romance as well. I also like: Jude Deveraux, Madeleine Brent, and Laurie McBain. These are older books but in the same vein as Garwood, Lindsey and McNaught.

I also love JG, I have found Jude Devereaux's trials/tribulations a bit painful for my bleeding heart but have Loved Julia Quinn. Her historicals have been vivid, clever, and have about the same level of explicit romance of JG's novels (so neither too graphic nor too tame).

Madeline Hunter has a series of books set in 14th C England (By Possession, By Design . . . ) that you might like. JG books tend to be in smaller communities or hamlets and this series of Hunter's are in London mostly, but the time period is close.
