I think yba's point of view is that there's a way to argue that anything anyone says is right. And vice versa.

I believe that his entire 'persona' is contrived. For pretty much every book that he has claimed to read, and attempted to make an 'insightful observation' about, I have been able to find an online abstract of the book, that says exactly the same thing-- but yba changed a couple of words, much like a school child copying an encyclopedia article. That is bizarre behavior for a grown man to engage in.

Sure, it's pretty normal for people to compensate for their feelings of ignorance, by pretending to know more than they do. I'm sure that I do a bit of that. But his entire personality seems devoted to it.

Israel Flying Aid Gives Food, Generators, Gas To Hurricane Sandy New York, New Jersey Victims

By Karen Levy
Israel News Agency

New York, NY --- November 4, 2012 ... Israel Flying Aid, the Israeli global humanitarian organization which was first to land in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake, has been distributing large supplies of gas to hospitals, food, batteries and generators to Hurricane Sandy victims.

"We have many years of disaster relief experience," said Israel Flying Aid North American Operations Manager Moti Kahana.
"Israel Flying Aid, in having Israelis on the ground here in New York and New Jersey, have made Israel the only foreign nation to provide humanitarian assistance to the US during this disaster. We are working in coordination with FEMA, local police, the American Red Cross and Jewish communities in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut."

Kahana said that most of the efforts had been donated by Israelis living in the US and this enabled gas to be distributed to hospitals in New York and New Jersey.

Joel Leyden, an Israel Flying Aid Operations Specialist who was with the IFA in Haiti, has been working with the Greater Hartford Jewish Community to distribute both food and generators on Long Island.

"We had a convoy of food and generators move out of the Greater Hartford area early yesterday morning," said Leyden.

Hajj is an honourific that someone can assume after making the obligatory (or at least highly recommended) pilgrimage to Mecca. Women use "Hajjah" instead. In my experience I've never personally met anyone using it - it sounds pretentious. The Hajj takes place over a 5 day period which this year happened about a week ago. It's more a confirmation of faith rather than a conversion.

Gunpowder was first used in the middle east around 1260. The Mongols used catapults to throw explosive charges. The Muslim Mameluks picked up the technology either from China or from the Mongols and fought back using primitive rudimentary cannon. The Muslim world was no stranger to violence - they didn't have to learn it from anyone.

J. Schwarz:
Good evening.
You are correct the lines in the gas stations were unbelievable long near the school, but hey! I have obligations and I can't fool around no matter what... what was worse was the parking, there was literally no place to do so and I had a hard time until I found my own solution praying that I can be quietly in class and return and find my car there. I succeeded and this is because they were busy otherwise :-)
I will use gas to vote tomorrow and so do you., but otherwise stay home. They also say that we will have snow? I just need that like..........

Good evening> Tomorrow we vote and you will watch this from afar!
I pray that all is done for the benefit of the USA.
Thank you for the information on the Hajj as part of a name. I didn't know there was a female form of this, but of course this doesn't surprise me since all has a gender in Semitic languages.

I do know that the were/are not stranger to violence, that is my biggest argument with prior and current Moslems. Tell me why I learned to write Moslem and you write Muslim?

You only post empty rhetoric. It's like you never took a social science or philosophy class.

The college will open tomorrow but I don't have to go in until Wed. I hope by that time the gas lines are almost gone. I still have a friend with no heat and its going to be cold tonite. I understand there is a chance of snow on Wed and Thurs. and it would be better than more rain. I think we will be remembering this year for some time.

You did? Well good for you bookless. And I thought you spent all day and night on Amazon bothering and harrassing people and posting nonsense. I am so glad I was wrong about you.

Good to find you here and that all is well with you dear.
Explain to me how can the voting be done before the voting? I had no notion that this could be done. You mean absentee ballot?
How am I? Let m tell you the ways: I love having an incredible vision after a cataract operation. This is a gift, an incredible gift driving without glasses at all and see everything day and night. Blessed be the scientist who found a solution to this common issue.
I love the school, I should not kvetch about too much reading, but yes it is too much reading and teachers think they are the only ones when you are taking more courses. So my days are long and satisfying, reading for class at the same time as preparing the final papers that I chose to write about.
The driving back and forth I like it more than the train. I had done fun trips in trains in Italy, Israel, but not in this line- and I was not very happy with the help they give you- some of the workers bark orders, more than being helpful. Others are exceptional in the way they help, but those who didn't spoiled my only ride. I want to be in control of my life now.
This is what is going on with me now. The dissertation is left on a side to edit, and perhaps one of the teachers in this place will take over. I just started so it is too early to say what will happen, but I am hopeful.

At 12 PM my husband will come and we will go and vote. I do not know if you know that in the internet they were recruiting people for this and that party and they were also asking social security numbers. NO WAY. So, they will learn today for the first time for whom will I vote.
I truly do NOT care for this snow that is coming! First the Holidays, then Sandy, and now snow, makes school much more difficult to accomplish :-)
Take care, stay here and write more :-)

Rachel
