Shameless promotion of my first novel-would be great to get advice and feedback.

against amazon TOS

is that feedback enough

Posted on Mar 20, 2013 1:02:48 PM PDT
Sorry about the abuse , I thought the forums were to help each other-I certainly have read enough similar requests for feedback and self -promotion And you do have a way with words, undoubtably a writer..If I can cancel my arrogant request I will.

What does that have to do with anything? Why did you feel it necessary to even mention a superfluous statement like that?Grasping at personal attacks towards family is about as low as you can go.My wife's father fought in the German Army.Does that make him a Nazi,a war criminal or a man following national orders for draft purposes?

The armistice was signed, the troops were marching back to Germany from the Soviet front and theRAF strafed the columns of men wounding and killing many after the fact.Is there glory in that and other acts by the allies? There is much about the war that will never be known because the victors wrote the history. It is a criminal act to question parts of that war and violators can be imprisoned just for seeking their truth.Little by little it is coming out and those who pay attention learn.

wtf

you allege some quote i did not post

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 20, 2013 4:47:48 PM PDT
I will lower myself just this one time to respond in my defense. My book is historical-where better to get feedback and interest people in discussion then a history forum. Don't mention the book? That's like exchanging recipes without saying what the food is you are preparing. Thanks for the support, those of you that came to my defense-made a 66 year old woman writing her first novel feel alot better about breaking the rules of this club. I guess bad attention is better than no attention at all.

dont care what your book is
spamming it is against amazon TOS

you can discuss and hype it in the moa forums
others are abuse

you can ask a leading question on a topic
without mentioning the book

might even get away with quoting your book
as long as you dont let it be known you wrote it

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 20, 2013 4:50:47 PM PDT
It's ok Sandra, you didn't know.
Horsie is a well-known jerk in these parts.

L. King says:
Sandra -

If I may make a suggestion - start again with something like the following. (Note - I never read your OP as it was deleted.)

Topic Title: History of the Cathars

Hi, I'm the author of an historical fiction CHRONICLES OF JONGLEUR, THE STORYTELLER which portrays the period of the Cathars as an early prototype of the Protestant reformation vs the Church. [As I'm planning to do a 2nd novel] I would be interested in other sources and opinions on this era.

andthehorseirodeinontoo - would you find that objectionable?

I have a mild interest in the period and wouldn't mind learning about the sources you used for background. A discussion comparing the two eras might also prove interesting.
