"His real name, according to author L. Frank Baum, was Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkel Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs. Since it's a bit cumbersome, the bearer of this moniker squeezed it down to the initials only, which came out as O.Z.P.I.N.H.E.A.D. From the third letter onward the acronym spells "pinhead," not desirable for an ambitious individual, even if it does hint at the truth. Obfuscating that truth and enhancing his image, therefore, necessitated a further trim, leaving only OZ. Mr. Diggs, originally of Omaha, Nebraska, made his none-too-impressive living as a circus magician. For promotional purposes he painted the OZ logo boldly on the hot-air balloon he used for some of his none-too-impressive tricks. His fortunes dramatically improved after said balloon once drifted to the Emerald City. There, this otherwise ordinary con artist found himself worshiped by the naïve denizens as the all-knowing Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Incredibly they hung on to the presumed supreme sorcerer's every word, and he did his utmost to sustain the myth. Just like former US President William Jefferson Clinton (born Blythe), originally of Hope, Arkansas. Whenever hot air ferries this political magician over to our backwater, the natives incredibly hang on to his every word, inane and hackneyed as it may be. This possibly is the last spot on Earth in which he is still worshipped as a great wizard and he laps it up. Seeming to do his darnedest to enlighten his benighted fans, he in fact does his utmost to sustain the myth. DURING HIS latest speechifying extravaganza, Slick Willie (as fellow Arkansans called him) pontificated when memorializing Yitzhak Rabin: "Had he not lost his life on that terrible November night, within three years we would have had a comprehensive agreement for peace in the Middle East." No kidding. It's a stretch to believe the wizard was sincere. He must have at least dimly recalled that the Oslo pipedream had revealed itself a haunting nightmare. Packed passenger buses were blown up and what Rabin euphemistically dubbed "victims of peace" were slaughtered in our streets. There are more than a few indications that Rabin himself was already growing increasingly edgy and unsure. The great historical irony is that he may have been assassinated on the verge of awakening from the hypnotic Osloite delusion. Rabin resolutely opined against a Palestinian state, the re-division of Jerusalem and ceding the Jordan valley. There can be no certainly that by 1998 he'd have marched dutifully down the path outlined for him by Shimon Peres and Clinton. It's all moot. It's conjecture. It can be argued just as cogently that Rabin read the adverse polls and understood he'd lose the next election if he didn't correct his course. Clinton's assertion is as trustworthy as the claims Diggs of Omaha made for the snake oil and patent elixirs he peddled at county fairs. All post-Rabin Israeli premiers toed the Oslo line and offered concessions, some of the sort Rabin bluntly opposed. Peres exploited his few months as caretaker to cede Judea and Samaria cities. Israelis paid in blood for Peres's recklessness, which had to be undone - following the Park Hotel carnage - via 2002's Operation Defensive Shield and the security fence. Although given the voters' mandate to veer away from Oslo, Netanyahu didn't during his 1996-99 tenure. His successor, Laborite Ehud Barak, was Clinton's darling. Clinton actively helped him defeat Netanyahu. Clinton did for Barak what few American presidents ever dared openly do even for their most promising foreign protégés. The none-too-impressive then-White House resident pulled out all stops in his unabashed intervention in Israel's domestic politics, boosting Barak in a fashion unseen since the CIA's blatant interference in Italy's post-WWII election. Brashly Clinton didn't even bother to cover up his tracks but dispatched his own spin doctors, private pollsters and campaign strategists to get Barak elected. After Barak's 1999 win, the Wizard of Hope could hardly contain his glee. On the eve of Barak's first visit as PM, Clinton quipped that he's "as excited as a kid awaiting a new toy." It was pretty demeaning to look upon the leader of an allied sovereign state as a plaything, but Clinton greeted with pomp and circumstance a guest whose election constituted his personal triumph. The American president made Barak's political battle his own. Hence it's more than a tad disingenuous to now suggest that Clinton could count on no Israeli leader after Rabin. Yet wonder of wonders - even Clinton's chummy favorite couldn't manage to salvage peace from the Oslo disaster. Not that Barak hadn't tried. Not that Clinton didn't prod him at Camp David and then desperately at Taba. Not that Barak didn't offer for sale almost everything - even Judaism's Holiest of Holies. But Arafat violently spurned Barak's egregious generosity and kindled the 2000 intifada. IN A recent Jericho conference PLO negotiator Saeb Erekat divulged that at Camp David Clinton entreated Arafat, "as a believer," to acknowledge a Jewish bond to Jerusalem and admit the great Jewish temple once stood where al-Aksa mosque was subsequently constructed. Arafat remained adamant: "I will never recognize that any temple existed. If we don't liberate Jerusalem from Jewish presence now, there will be those who will do so in five years, or ten, even a hundred, if that's what it takes." It's this ongoing and unabating Arab intransigence which foiled and keeps foiling all attempts to broker peace. Moreover, this intransigence is evident regarding all contentious issues, not merely Jerusalem. While Israel has made risky concession after risky concession, the Palestinians simply haven't budged from their starting standpoint. Yet meddling sorcerers like Clinton manage to make it appear that Israelis are culpable. Clinton serially imparts the false impression that Israeli leaders - both before and after Rabin - just didn't seek peace enough. He underscores this by preaching that Israelis must make peace because "you cannot get a divorce and move to another planet." He scares us that "Palestinians have more babies" and, therefore, "if you want to be a democracy and a Jewish state you have to cut a deal." Besides this being our business and none of his, the abiding implication of the omniscient kibitzer's admonitions is that the problem begins and ends with Israeli attitudes. "You need to get this done and you do have partners," judges the infallible wonderful wizard. This is fake, as fake as O.Z.P.I.N.H.E.A.D's powers. Baum's wizard is of course eventually exposed, while Clinton is adulated by our homegrown munchkins as if he has every right to talk down, reprove and lecture to us. Furthermore, unlike Baum's bumbling fraud, Clinton is no ne'er-do-well. He globetrots, earning upwards of $200,000 per appearance. Everywhere he profitably declaims precisely those timeworn stereotypic cliches his moneyed hosts expect to hear. Same here."

Wizard of Oz creator L. Frank Baum called for the extermination of American Indians

Columnist Bruce Dancis wrote, "`The Wizard of Oz' has become so ingrained in the American psyche that today, 70 years after it was first released by MGM, the movie continues to inspire wonderment, laughter and tears."

Of the 70th anniversary airing of the show, CBS anchorwoman Katie Couric gushed, "I will probably watch it again for the 150th time."

When the movie was released in 1939, it was indeed a wonder. It was an exciting children's fantasy movie with vivid colors, great songs, and it was a movie with a message. Should this great movie be tainted by the racial sins of the man who wrote the book, L. Frank Baum?

Baum and Adolph Hitler had one thing in common: Both called for the genocidal extermination of a race of people - Hitler, the Jews, and Baum, the Sioux people of South Dakota.

In an editorial written six days after 300 Lakota men, women and children were massacred at Wounded Knee, Baum wrote, "Having wronged them for centuries we had better, in order to protect our civilization, follow it up by one more wrong and wipe these untamed and untamable creatures from the face of the earth."

Baum followed that editorial with another. He wrote, "The whites, by law of conquest, by justice of civilization, are masters of the American continent, and the best safety of the frontier settlements will be secured by the total annihilation of the few remaining Indians. Why not annihilation? Their glory has fled, their spirit is broken, their manhood effaced; better that they die than live the miserable wretches that they are."

Fifty years later, another man set out to "annihilate" a race of people. Adolph Hitler did manage to exterminate 6 million Jews before the roof caved in on him. Hitler also wrote a book called "Mein Kampf." In the book he wrote, "Was there any form of filth or profligacy, particularly in cultural life, without at least one Jew involved in it? If you cut even cautiously into such an abscess, you found, like a maggot in a rotting body - often dazzled by the sudden light - a Kike."

For argument's sake, suppose an enterprising producer had made a movie based on "Mein Kampf." Would that movie carry the stigma of the author? Perhaps, but critics would argue that Hitler actually accomplished some of his mission in exterminating the Jews, while L. Frank Baum only editorialized about it. But there is no difference in their message. Both called for the genocidal extermination of a race of people.

Then why is L. Frank Baum so loved while Hitler so eternally hated? Suppose the book "Mein Kampf" was actually a children's book about a fantasyland in the Bavarian Alps. And further suppose that the book was then made into a movie that was highly acclaimed. Would the fact that Hitler wrote the book and that he also called for genocide against the Jews diminish the popularity of the movie? There are probably a plethora of answers to these questions. Could it be that the lives of the Jews were more important than the lives of the Indians? After all, the Indians stood in the path of Manifest Destiny and therefore it was God's will that they be removed or eliminated. That makes it alright in the minds of most Americans.

But no matter how you cut it, genocide is genocide. If you read the words as written by L. Frank Baum, and then read them again, his words are no different than those of Adolph Hitler when he called for the annihilation or extermination of the Jewish race.

I would encourage Katie Couric and all of the other news people of note who fall all over themselves in recalling the wonders of "The Wizard of Oz" to take some time to read the published editorials of L. Frank Baum, and I can guarantee that when Katie sees "The Wizard of Oz" for the 150th time, she will see it in a different light.

No one in America can better understand the correlation of the words of Adolph Hitler and those of L. Frank Baum than the American Indian. There are many powerful Jews in America who not only fail to see the difference, but are actively promoting the film.

If the news people of America understood fair play, they would at least investigate and report on the genocidal proclamations of Mr. Baum. I wrote about him in a national publication in December 1990 and I did not see one follow-up by any other media. Would the media protect this scoundrel simply because he wrote a book that became a lovable movie?

Everybody knows and loves the all-time classic The Wizard of Oz. But did you know that many Jewish Hollywood veterans were involved getting this movie down that Yellow Brick Road?

Most visible- although he is a bit shy- is the Cowardly Lion. That's right... he's really a Lion of Judah! He was played by Bert Lahr, who got his start clowning in vaudeville. He became a well-known stage actor, even winning a Tony, but he never had another movie hit. As he put it: "I was typecast as a lion, and there just weren't many parts for lions!"

Another famous part went to character actor Abe Dinovitch... he plays the voice of the tree who throws apples at Dorothy!

L. Frank Baum, who wrote the original book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, wasn't Jewish. But many of the writers who turned it into a movie were, and some were pretty important. For instance, Irving Brecher wrote the musical Bye Bye Birdie, and Herbert Fields wrote Annie Get Your Gun, while Herman Mankiewicz wrote Citizen Kane, considered by many critics to be the greatest movie ever made!

While the writers used the book's story, the book didn't have any songs. Someone had to come up with "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "Follow the Yellow Brick Road," "If I Only Had a Brain," and "Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead."

Those someones were Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg. Go impress your grandparents by asking them to teach you some of their other songs! Harold Arlen, whose father was a cantor, wrote the music to the happy songs "Get Happy" and "I've Got the World on a String"... the sad songs "I Got A Right to Sing the Blues," and "It's Only a Paper Moon"... and the wet songs "Stormy Weather," "Come Rain or Come Shine" and "The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea."

Harold wrote a lot of his songs, including "Paper Moon," with a guy known as Yip Harburg. His real name was Edgar Harburg. Well, no... it was Isidore Hochberg, but he changed it to be more American- only to be best known by a Yiddish-based nickname, Yip. "Yip" was short for "yipsel," or "squirrel." We guess he was a squirrelly kid, and the name stuck. Anyway, ol' what's-his-name wrote some big hits: "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime," "April in Paris," "How Are Things in Glocca Mora," and "Lydia the Tattooed Lady." Like we said, ask your grandparents about these songs... and see how they light up!

There were lots of directors on the movie, too, and one was great Jewish director George Cukor. He wasn't on the set for very long, but he left his stamp... and went on to direct the musicals A Star is Born and My Fair Lady, as well as the non-musical classics Born Yesterday, Adam's Rib, The Philadelphia Story, and Gaslight.

Other Jews involved with the making of The Wizard of Oz were the producers, Mervyn LeRoy and Arthur Freed... and the studio head, the legendary Louis B. Mayer.

In the book, Dorothy's slippers were silver! But even shiny gray didn't look so impressive in the wild color scenes the movie was famous for... so they changed the slippers to a sparkling ruby-red, just for the movie.

I like the wizard of Oz, but the point is his mother was Jewish as was his entire maternal line. He was a marrano.

Maud Gage Baum (March 27, 1861 - March 6, 1953) was the wife of L. Frank Baum.
Born on March 27, 1861[1] to Matilda Joslyn Gage and Henry Hill Gage[2] Maud was the youngest of their four children
A daughter of the early abolitionist * * * *Hezekiah Joslyn * * * * *, Gage was the wife of Henry Hill Gage, with whom she had five children
------------------------------------- HEZEKIAH
hĕzəkˈə, in the Bible, king of Judah, son and successor of Ahaz. During his reign Sennacherib of Assyria routed (701 b.c.) the rebellious Jews and exacted a high indemnity from them. However, a plague in the Assyrian army saved (690 b.c.) Judah from a second invasion by Sennacherib. Hezekiah's reign was marked by the prophecies of Isaiah and Micah and by reforms to purify the religion of Israel by eliminating certain Canaanite practices. The country also experienced great material prosperity. His son and successor was Manasseh. See Hizkijah.

The mother raises the children, instills the morals ,immorality as it were, to their children.., The mother has the stronger bond. Look at Jacob. That is why Jews lineage is from their mother, as well as other factors (such as having bastard children).

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

All truth passes through three stages.
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Here is a Operation Morning Star Page from 2008 that I put together. Big difference but then again, I was not being slandered and lied about then by both Whites and Indians. This article is just one of over 30... The Washington Times.

As the founder of Operation Morning Star, I was G-d led to do what I could to address and meet the basic needs of those suffering from lack of basic G-d decreed needs on Reservations in South Dakota by helping supply those needs with minimal monetary help.

I also was G-d inspired to put in place a one of a kind "sponsorship program" for American Indian Elders and families to assure the "giver" that they have proof of where their monies go to, specifically the families and Elders you are being "matched" with and to.

My past includes being a former Combat Marine, former "arbitron rated" talk show host in Kansas City Missouri, former instructor at Haskell Indian Nations University. I am also a very small time "investigative-syndicated journalist".

I was also G-d led to address the epidemic of suicide in "Indian Country".

Did you watch the video? I can't watch it the whole way through after the first time I saw it. When her eyes fill with tears and her voice starts to shake it completely breaks me down, along with thinking of how painful her life was. In fact, every time I hear the song sung by her I cry helplessly, even as an adult. It has embarrassed me a couple times.

Omnibluster - I'm afraid Maud Gage is about as Jewish as the Sheriff of Nottingham. As in not only is there no evidence, there is no sense in what you say even if it were true. The use of a biblical name such as Hezekiah was common at the time.

Nor were L. Frank Baum's pronouncements at the time unique or considered leading public opinion. As a newspaper editorialist he was a bust. It was his children's stories that made his reputation.

That being said, the Wizard of Oz is not Mein Kampf, unless you are on the side of the Wicked Witch, which case you have a different take on the story. It was a much beloved children's book, and one of the few cases where the Hollywood production turned out to have a better story than the original book.

Not all Jews feel the need to be defensive. They are apparently more secure in who they than some others.

Back to the Ron Suskind book "The Confidence Men." I am nearing the end of the book, which I find amazing and very
informative. I will state up front that it a pretty pro-Obama book in some areas (intelligence and seeing the big picture) and
less than pro-Obama in other areas (like listening to too many sides, not carrying through on his ideas and ideals and letting
the big guys push him around).

I just finished an episode which was the beginning of the end for Larry Summers. I suppose you all know that Ron Suskind and
Larry Summers are Jewish. Suskind does not in any way feel the need to defend Summers just because they are both Jewish.
He tells it like it is. Summers has a huge ego. He is brilliant, he knows economics and the banking systems backwards and
forwards, he was for a long time a professor at Harvard. But he assumed that he was the boss of Obama rather than vice versa
and he would work around him or ignore him altogether.

Would any of you lovely Jewish people here on this forum have the guts to say similar things about any of your compadres or
am I once again being anti-semitic because I have dared to mention this?
