I will be in the market for a TV soon for a home theater/man cave of sorts, however all of these nice bid LED tvs all have 3D and internet and all that. Well, I don't want that. I don't care about 3D and I'll just get a Roku or something for Netflix, Hulu, or whatever. Do they make these? I couldn't find any large TVs without it. I am looking at ones at least 50" or bigger. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Just ignore such unwanted features and concentrate on the features that are important to you.

I hear you, sir. I'm looking for the same in the largest SONY of avail around 65" I allready bought a rather nice Sony BD player with internet. Soooo I guess I've allready aquired the brains that are in the blu-ray box sitting in the corner to plug into a nice dumb SONY TV as soon as I can a new SONY TV with low IQ. So lets have some answers for the poop on the dumb TV pricing and where to buy.

TV`S are getting like cars with more things you don`t want or need but must pay for.

In a car I want windows I roll down, a bumper, AC & Heat the heated seats and bells and whistles break and cost money a 2nd time.

My 5 year old Sharp Aquos has the best picture I have seen anywhere but Sharp does not seem to sell a GOOD 32 inch tv so they lost my business.

I do not understand why people want to text on a darn phone when you could say it in 60 seconds instead of bouncing junk back and forth for 20 minutes.

I am becoming an old fart I guess.

depends on how much you want to spend. I mean Samsung, Toshiba, and a few other brands have 50"+ models that are LED without internet or 3D but you won't get nearly a good picture quality as some of the higher models that do. I think in regards to the internet I think some of the better models are worth it and just models that offer 3D you will be paying more for the 3D while you won't be paying much more for a better looking model that happens to have internet.

Have you looked into projectors? If you are putting together a home theatre room and looking for the ultimate in viewing pleasure, i'd definitely take a look at projectors. Some have the option of adjusting the screen anywhere from 5" to 100", only thing with projectors is is a screen, thats another purchase and can be kinda expensive, but you can save and build your own screen, just look on net on how to do it.
