MIRROR and WALKERS are both excellent. Both stories involved a father and a son, just like PREY or RITUAL. WALKERS is another fantastic "Haunted House" story in which you will probably learn another Mythology....you'll also get to know some of masterton's craziest characters like QUINTUS MILLER.

MIRROR will tell you the horrible story of BOOFULS, a once famous kid superstar who got brutaly murdered under starnge circumstances......

I didnt know about the band "The Hell Candidate". What kind of music do they play ? im wondering if graham is ok with that.....As for me im definitely ordering the hell candidate from that website you gave me. that is just perfect!

See if you can find THE MANITOU movie, ANAIS and THE SECRET OF SHIH TAHN. tHEY WERE They're the only movie's adaptation that were made out of Graham's stories......

I mentioned The Hell Candidates to Graham on his site. He was intrigued. He does not seem to be the kind that would mind. He mentioned that the Lovecraft estate has left him alone even though he's used his characters. The Hell Candidates are very hard metal. I can't imagine Graham being into them.

You'd have to like extremely hard heavy metal. If you don't, you won't like it.

Im Metal too but it has to be very melodic. I do like TRISTANIA, THERION, DIMMU BORGIR, IRON MAIDEN, FEAR FACTORY and i think most bands on Nuclear blast are also very good. If its something a lot more intense, or should i say a lot less sophisticated i might not like it......

Nice to know you are KR, i never would've guessed...i posted a few posts seeing your name but i never clicked in....

I'll listen to anything. One of my friends was shocked when I started talking about Beyonce (I didn't like her live CD) because of all the hard rock I listen to, and I explained that I'll give anything a try, but that doesn't mean I'll necessarily like it.

The other day I was listening to Christian rock for the hell of it, and discovered that I really liked this song "Hero" by Skillet. I don't care that it's about Jesus; the song rocks.

I'm not so into heavy heavy heavy metal, so I'm not even sure that I would like the Hell Candidates. I like Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, AC/DC, Guns 'n Roses . . . like you said, melodic.

Doum -- I'm now seeing that you can get a lot of Masterton's books used through amazon.com for like 1 or 2 cents. Let me know if you do better with half.com or with amazon, and I will proceed accordingly.

Posted on Feb 17, 2012 1:23:35 PM PST
I will. Amazon was the main site i had so far but i did noticed a lot of titles i wanted on the half website. I'll let you know how it goes...

I'm noticing the same sellers on both sites. It probably comes down to which charges you the most for shipping. I suppose it's possible to save about 74 cents on amazon if the shipping costs are the same.

I have to be careful with this....i've bought more and more items on amazon.com but the shipping is often more expensive for me as im in Canada.....but then again there is not a lot of Masterton's books on Amazon.ca so most of the time i dont have a choice.....its all good though cause amazon is the best for me so far.....

Will see what the half website can do for me. So far im very pleased with the titles and prices i've seen. Dont hesitate to use the amazon's UK platform if there's something you cant find from him on both sites.......

I use amazon UK once a year to send things to relatives in England for Christmas. They are still kids, so probably not a good idea to send Masterton novels.

That was not a very nice interview - it is a GREAT interview! The byplay with J.A. Konrath is priceless, and any author who gets hate mail for killing off a character gets my vote. :D

that would've been UNSPEAKABLE,... Very dark Masterton novel with a great concept to it. I can remember being very surprised when she get her head blown off at the end of the book......

The subscription is quite expensive, but I was thinking of starting one up just to get that Masterton special.

I think Richard Matheson were much more developed for the adult reader of Horror. Graham Masterson was fine for teenagers which is when I read his books.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 19, 2012 7:09:51 AM PST
@Brielimom,...I just looked him up on WIKI...His work is very different from Graham...he did wrote a little bit of horror but it seems he's mostly writing fiction. I understand he had major hits that were adapted into film like "I Am Legend" and stuff but we are extremely far from the world of Graham Masterton..

masterton's workis sometimes very shocking and disturbing...his stories and imagination are way beyond entendment...only Stephen king and Dean koontz have the same reputation as him...masterton can juggle with mythologies, demons and entities from all around the world and he can also create is own....This may sound a bit elitist but i truly believe Graham Masterton is way above everyone else in terms of horror and fantasy......

I was excited to read Koontz's "Frankenstein" series, but it went so downhill after the second installment that I don't know when I will be able to bring myself to read another Koontz book again.

Posted on Feb 19, 2012 8:56:24 AM PST
@Kinks,...i know what you mean. That happens to me a lot, i'll start a new book and then stop it because its too slow-paced....or just not that interesting....Graham stories are always very addictive and its very hard to put the book down....The longest story i've read from him or should i say the most slow-paced one so far is SPIRIT with peggy buchanan. on the other end the story is so well presented and depicted in anectotes and different period time that it doesnt matter, even though its long...you'll keep reading....

Posted on Feb 19, 2012 9:23:37 AM PST
KinksRock says:
SPIRIT was awesome. Maybe his slowest paced book, but well worth it, and it has led me to read "The Snow Queen" twice (two different editions).

Koontz's "Frankenstein" series introduced lame characters and stupid plot lines with poorly crafted conclusions. A waste of time.
