BTW, I think the creation of this lounge was an awesome idea. Thanks, Baron!

When and where was that? I wouldn't mind reading it. And I agree with her on Salem's Lot being good.

Charlene put a link in her post.

It's in the Book Forum; Salem's Lot by Stephen King Thread.

Tommyknockers is the only King book I struggled through, took me 2 times to make it through it.

I like some Musical films- Grease, Tommy, Cannibal: The Musical, Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead, Across The Universe, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and its sequel Shock Treatment.

Charlene,

Re: Thanks, Baron!

I'm happy you like the idea of this lounge thread. It's nice to have a thread where we needn't worry one bit about going off topic, where we just 'hang out'.

I like musicals too, especially these terrific movies--

Singin' in the Rain
Mary Poppins
Meet Me in St. Louis
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
The King and I
The Court Jester
The Sound of Music
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
The Little Mermaid
Scrooge
The Wizard of Oz
The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T
The Nightmare Before Christmas

Me too. State Fair (both versions are neat) My Fair Lady, Bye Bye Birdie, My Fair Lady. The King and I is one of my all time favorites.

I found that thread about "Salem's Lot" today and it reminded me what a delight it was to read that book; I've read it three times so far.
That's what a vampire story can be-- enough to scare the living tar out of you.

I added my two cents to the thread. I hope the O.P. reads the novel!

re: nightmares

What, Julie Andrews cutting up your drapes to make outfits for you? LoL

Julie Andrews screeching.
Didn't those German fellows have lugers?

"The hills are alive with..."
*BANG*

Not one of my favorites--the movie or the product.

I think they should make a musical about Jack the Ripper.

Victorian hookers tapdancing on cobblestones gives me the giggles....

LOL You're mean. Julie Andrews has a great voice. I must admit that I literally had to be forced to watch The Sound of Music but once I did, I discovered that the story was excellent. I could have done without the music, but the story captured my imagination, especially because it was based on a true story. The Von Traps apparently emigrated here and have a B&B up north, I believe in New Hampshire, according to a friend that is a HUGE fan of the film and J. Andrews.

I guess I'm in the minority, because musicals are just not my thing.

P.S. Baron-it's good to see you again and I agree that this is a great idea-I can't say how many times someone has berated us for going "off topic" in the horror thread for horror books. Now we can come here and talk about all that other stuff. :)

P.P.S. Charlene, you and Bitter hail from the same home state.

Oh yeah? I hadn't thought to check.

I'm sort of bummed that I'm not watching racing right now.
I'm also a little bummed because this Maberry book is not as good as Dead of Night. I'm only about 25% in, but it's more action centered than his other books. It's more of a military task force vs zombies and evil terrorists type thing. Which is ok, but not really MY thing, you know?
