Hi,

I am sure you have all noticed the new trend of zombie novella's - i.e. short stories. I for one am not a big fan. I would rather sit and read a full length book rather than part 1 etc. novella's. I gather this is a new way for authors to get more money and interest in their books, however the wait time ( and cost - sometimes ) for future episodes, seems to take forever.

So... I was hoping someone out there could suggest some titles that are in the KINDLE store. I have read quite a few e.g.

- Area 187
- Domain & Remains of the dead - Iain McKinnon
- White Flag of the dead series
- No Easy Hope (Surviving the Dead)-James Cook
- A New World: series
- As The World Dies series

Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance

Kribu says:
If you're not averse to YA, Carrie Ryan's trilogy (starting with The Forest of Hands and Teeth ) is quite good.

I finished Isaac Marion's Warm Bodies: A Novel yesterday - an interesting take, written from a zombie point of view, with romance.

Hollowland (The Hollows, #1) it's free now. A horror story with a female main; it's targeted to the YA crowd.

Maybe writers should finish writing a series and publish them a month apart, this would ease the waiting for the next installment. A little bit like the TV-Shows with their seasons and an episode every week.

I just finished a great Jonathan Maberry and he has quite a few other than this one. Dead of Night: A Zombie Novel/
It was awesome!
Also [[ASIN:B000JMKQX0 World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War] was quite good.

Orpheus- a great deal for .99 and a book.
I second "no easy hope." I went in to buy the second but he hasn't written it yet
Maberry's rot&Ruin and dust & decay
Allison Hewitt Is Trapped: A Zombie Novel

Speaking of Novellas, the following one seemed pretty good. Experiment gone amok creates Zombies. Not heart attack serious like "The Walking Dead" but not comedic like "Zombieland".

Contaminant Z : Manhattan Project

Definitely check the above titles, because they're all awesome. If you don't mind a little humor with your zombie apocalypse, you might want to try Jesse Petersen's Living with the Dead series. The first book is Married with Zombies (Living with the Dead, Book 1)

Try:"Allison Hewitt is Trapped" followed by "Sadie Walker is Stranded" and one of my personal favorite series Feed and Blackout by Mira Grant.

"I"ve Been Deader" is a full length novel. I'll say nothing more, as I know the author.

There is also "The Terrible Zombie of Oz" by Lisa Scullard. It's 170 pages, 99 cents, and a bit of a parody.

I very much enjoyed it. The author has a second novel in the 'series' and almost finished with a third to my knowledge.

Hi, I have a few that I read and if they are series I have read those too. But as for a long novel here are a couple:

Dead Air: First Flight by Samuel C. Garcia This is my absolute favorite.
DEAD AIR: First Flight

Uprising USA, Uprising UK and Uprising Italia by George Hill
Uprising USA

Sovereign Spirit Sage (two out) by David Forsyth
Voyage of the Dead - Introductory First Look (Sovereign Spirit Saga Book 1)

Contagium Trilogy by Emily Goodwin
Contagious (The Contagium Series Book 1)

LZR 1143 by Bryan James
LZR-1143: Evolution (Book Two of the LZR-1143 Series)

The Secret Apocalypse series by James Harden
The Secret Apocalypse (A Secret Apocalypse Story Book 1)

Dead Tropics by Sue Edge but it isn't on Amazon anymore. She does have a website that you can purchase it directly from her. If I were friends with you I could probably share it, lol. Hope the others are to your liking. I have over 300 zombie books on my kindle and only about 30 are short. Most are long novels or they are series that each one is long.

Hi Gloria,
I would love to be able to get some of those books that you have. I have quite a few too, but as you know they all cost money :( If there was a way for us to exchange any that would be great. If you know how!!! let me know.
Cheers

Hi Splinker, yep about that many, lol. I am a huge zombie fan, books, ebooks, movies etc....My family laughs at me, except my 18 year old son. I check Amazon quite a few times a day and download as many free or low cost ebooks as I can. You would be amazed at how many are just free for an hour or two only or just for a day. It is quite easy. If you put zombies in the search for Kindle books, there are over 3200 available!! So, when that list comes up, I narrow it the first time by publication date to see if there is any that are new and the second time I will do it from low to high cost. Right now there are about 30 free books available. Another hint for you to find low cost ones, if you have an author that you enjoy a lot, possibly find a facebook page or website that they post when new ones are coming out or if they are having a special, like a freebie day.

Lil, the only way to share with you is if I have your email address and you do not want to put that here on the forum since anyone will be able to see it. I just was looking at the how to loan a book to someone and that is the only way. Sorry.
