Sheila, At the age of 21, married for only 2 months, I was hit by a drunk driver. I was a pedestrian. Walking on the sidewalk in the middle of a beautiful spring day. Miraculously, I was not killed, but suffer to this day from my injuries. But I can tell this story and make it funny, mostly because it was such a freak and I was such an innocent victim. I even made sure I walked on the sidewalk facing traffic, to be safer. Hysterical!

Kathy Griffen picks small minded topics to work: the Osmonds and Oprah? Nothing deep.

I'm not a big fan of hers, and don't know a lot about her, but she did some okay episodes as a guest on Whose Line is It

When I'm trying to make people laugh, I won't do any bits or take shots at something that I know will upset someone in the group. But as a writer, that's harder to do, because you don't KNOW who is reading your book.

I found it best for my conscience to lead off with a forward that says "this is supposed to make you laugh, and if it offends, my bad." Then I can write whatever I want!
