When I turned my ipod on this morning, disk mode popped up on the screen and now I cannot even get it to turn off and it is stuck on the screen. I went to the apple store/ipod online but could not find anything to help-before I resort to calling ipod-does anyone have any suggestions? thanks

flip the on hold switch (flip to hold then flip to on) press and hold the center button and menu button for bout 10 seconds or until you see the little apple. that should work.

Yes, I often have to reboot mine (I don't know why) just likde R. Edge said:

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

I can see songs from cd's I have imported into my music library and have hit "sync ipod" over and over, but the songs do not show up. I have the latest updates, I have converted to mp3, etc. etc. Any other suggestions for why the songs would not show up on my ipod??

I have an old generation 1 mini ipod 4 gb. Bought a new ford with the microsoft "SYNC" program. Problem is the program does not recognize the usb device(the ipod). Is it just that it's too old, or is there something I can do? I really like the mini so don't really want to lose it. Thanks

If I purchase a new IPod, will I lose all of the songs that I had added to ITunes thru my own CDs and ITune store purchases?

Please help. My iPod just started distorting (or playing too fast and/or garbles) my audiobooks. When I listened to the books on iTunes they were fine. They were all fine until yesterday when it started doing this. The music is not distorted -- only the books.
