listening to Rabih Abou -Khalil/Joachim Kuhm-Journey to the Centre of an Egg and I must admit the more I play it the more I like it.
Rabih Abou-Khalid ----oud
Joachim Kuhn---------piano,alto sax
Jarrod Cagwin---------drums,frame drums
I bought this CD for track one Shrewd Woman and did not really at first care for the rest on the CD, but I must admit that I have a stack of Cd's that I just recieved today that I'll be listening to over this weekend but I have gotten stuck on this one and have played it for hours and each time I play it I appreciate it more, funny how that happens, I hear things that I did not hear before, that's why jazz/music is so addictive to me it takes me on a happy journey without a thicket, pass or bag.
For me this is just the right mixture of eastern- western jazz.
All the players have there moments and turn around and work together as a well tuned unit, unpredictable but yet smooth.
This CD was recorded in 2004 but it's new to me and so are the musicians althought I am sure that I have been listening to them over the years but just did not know or single them out.
Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

Thanks for the heads up, looking forward to getting in. ( oh no I just told Ahmad that I would not buy any more CD's for the next 30 days, do not tell him I got weak ) this is embarrassing.

Ahmad says:
Roy,
In my last two post on the What's On Order thread, I said (on November 24th): "Last order for this year and the coming year; seriously".

Then, on the 29th, I placed another order! Now, that is an embarrassment :-)

I have one album by Rabi Abu Khalil, and I like it very much Blue Camel

Ahmad you lasted five days I lasted 5 mins, now that's pitiful and shows no control.

Checked out Blue Camel sounds nice, but I am not buying anything new, thanks anyway. I am in control.
