What are the changes to standards that you most like to (or for us retirees) liked to play? My choices are

"I Got Rhythm"- alternate changes
"All The Things You Are" at any tewmpo. My favorite line for these changes is Kenny Dorham's "Prince Albert".
"I'll Remember April" Up or medium up.
"Cherokee"
"Tis Autumn" as a ballad but to improvise a line on and not the original melody.

Great list, Mr. Sorensen! The first ten that come to mind:
"317 East 32nd" ("Out of Nowhere")
"Magna-Tism" ("Just Friends")
"Speak Low"
"On a Clear Day"
"I Love You"
"I Remember You"
"Groovin' High" ("Whispering")
"Ornithology" ("How High the Moon")
"My Romance"
and, of course
"Donna Lee" ("Back Home Again in Indiana")

we can add to this great list that has been started these are some of my favourite changes to play a solo on (not yet mentioned):
"sweet sue"
"fine and dandy"
"all of me" (was in a jam a couple of days ago and made a concious choice not to play any part of the melody, just thinking of the wonderful changes the song has)
"body and soul"
" i surrender dear"
"on the sunny side of the street"
"home"
believe it or not "coquette" (i like doing a moten swing on it after the melody, got the idea because "boots and his buddies" hints at it)
"black butterfly"
"sweet georgia brown" (i like to play with the bechet line on top, many good choices for a shout chorus too, but that is another issue, franz and paul bascomb both had great solos on this one of whom i played with), and "georgia on my mind" is fine to play too
"black and blue"
probably can tell i am swing era vintage with some of my choices (i did not include any changes that have already spoken of)
all the best (and if it was not 2 am in chicago i think i would come up with many more, love playing on "perdido" too)
yves francois
ps "indiana" does have nice changes, was listening to prez and king cole last night after the jam session, never get enough of lester
