I was quite excited when I heard about this, unfortunately, looks like the internet service is only available to the Continental US. Fairbanks, Alaska can't get it.

Maybe this has changed recently? I have a Kindle and live in Fairbanks - I've had no issues at all using it wirelessly.

E. K. Gilje says:
I did not know that debut can be used as a verb, but checked it in the American English dictionary;kindly supplied for free on my brand new Kindle. Yes indeed;you are right. In my Oxford English dictionary, however, the verb version will still have to make its debut.

Please! Someone do a good deed and explain to me how I can have my books available on Kindle! One is with a small press publisher and two are currently out of print and I have the rights reverted back to me from the defunct Meteor romance line. I can make a PDF file or whatever kind of file. I just need to know how to get them listed in time for the Christmas season rush. I would appreciate any links or info--please? Do a mitzvah!

I'm planning to spend two weeks in Tunisia and intend to get an e-reader for the long plane flights & to read while I'm there. There won't be any English language books available & I'm not sure about electricity. About how many hours of reading can I get from the battery between charges?

E. K. Gilje says:
You won't be able to download anything while in Tunesia. With Kindle you can download all you want in advance, and read it while you are there. The electricity is 240 V: which is good for your Kindle, but you might need a converter for the peculiar US sockets. Eivind costa-tropical.gilje.com

I play the clarinet in a small band. Has anyone developed a Kindle app that will display music - and transpose?

When will "Atlas Shrugged" (the novel) be available on Kindle. I yearn to read this book, but it is so huge, it hurts my hands to clutch it for long.

Can the kindle be used at night in total darkness without a seperate light source? Does it have a feature of being back lit for night reading??
