Kindle only shows portrait mode (except for Videos). Does any one know how to fix?

Try clicking on the cog wheel (Settings) and unlocking the screen rotation. That is the usual problem.

Hello Randy Stetz,

There is a Status Bar located at the top of your Kindle Fire screen and displays notifications, the time, the Quick Settings icon, Wi-Fi indicator, and battery indicator.

Tap the Quick Settings icon (looks like a gear, on the top right corner), for locking and unlocking auto-rotation tap the first icon on the left.

I hope this helps!
