Excellent Question! I am looking for an answer to that as well!

This is the answer I got from Amazon Technical Support...

I'm sorry there is no way to view/sync the yahoo calendar in Kindle Fire.

I understand your concern about view/sync the yahoo calendar in Kindle Fire and I'm also sending your message to the appropriate people in our company to add this feature to the Kindle. Customer feedback like yours helps us continue to improve our store and provide better service to our customers.

From time to time, we test both new and existing features on our website to determine which characteristics or services drive customer purchases and satisfaction.

We're regularly working on improvements to your Kindle experience. I've let the Kindle team know you're interested in this feature.

Thanks for using Kindle.

Thank you for looking into that request. I am also interested in this feature! I have an iPhone and would love to be able to use the Yahoo calendar on my Fire instead.

Count me as another vote for yahoo calendar. I just unboxed the fire, and that was 1 of the first things I looked for.

While I am not familiar with the Yahoo calendar, if you are lucky enough to see this in time, you can get the Splashtop Ap for FREE in the apstore. It will let you access ANYTHING on your computer via your Fire! Very cool. Even worth the 4.99 if you miss free. I love accessing my many podcasts without having to bother with having to upload them to the cloud.

Please add an APP that would allow us to synch to Yahoo Calendar. Thank you.

I'd be happy to do that but I'm an Amazon customer, just like you. If you want to contact Amazon and make that suggestion you can submit it via the "Help and Feedback" selection in your settings.

I've been looking for this since I bought Kindle Fire in December, nothing came-up yet. I like yahoo as my primary e-mail/contact/calendar client but it is a shame that Kindle Fire doesn't have calendar integrated yet.

Still hoping...

I would also like to be able to sync my yahoo calendar with my new kindle fire hd. Calendars are IMPORTANT. It's, literally, the second thing I tried to configure on my new device today after opening the package. Seems Amazon could have been a little more up-front about this problem!! Let's see some action guys. People have been asking for this for over a year!

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 1, 2012 4:56:44 PM PST
@Julie: If you want to be certain that someone from Amazon hears your feedback, please send an email to or if you have a Fire - we are mainly Kindle owners here, not from Amazon.

I AM FRUSTRATED! I know Apple and Google have a rivalry and each (mostly Apple it seems) make it difficult to use the other's products. And, Amazon/Kindle seems to be jumping into this "monopoly-mindedness" by not allowing access to the Yahoo Calendar.

This is utter nonsense and childishness. And, as a consumer it makes me extremely angry.

I have an iMac, an iPhone5 and a MacBook Pro but enjoy reading on a Kindle, so rather than opt for a Mini iPad I got a Kindle Fire HD for Xmas.

It might have to go back to sender: I cannot synch with my iCalendar (which I expected) but I can't even synch with Yahoo.

A whole year has gone by, it's obvious that people want the connectivity to their Yahoo calender, we have the 8.9, and there is still no support for the Yahoo calender? What is worse is that the Kindle calendar must be linked with something for it to even work...why??? Why can't it stands alone?

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 7, 2013 10:48:25 AM PST
You cannot view your Yahoo calendar directly on your Kindle. However, you can get it there. It took me awhile and several machinations but here is how I did it. I own a Macbook so I do not know if this works on a PC.

First I used iCal to import my Yahoo Calendar to Entourage. Then I downloaded Fliq Calendar and Missing Sync to my Kindle Fire. Missing Sync must also be downloaded to the Macbook - currently free for 14 days then $29.95 to own. Syncing my calendars was a breeze after that. I will see how it goes but if it continues to work, I'll buy Missing Sync as it has many other functions.

If you simply download the "Yahoo" app from the Amazon Appstore, it will provide access to your Yahoo calendar. Easy Peasy.

Wow...THANK YOU. I tried everything BUT that.

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 7, 2013 11:25:46 AM PST
I think the glitch is viewing it offline so a download sync would be important.

You're welcome. Having worked with Yahoo apps (including their email) for a number of years, I can attest to the fact that they simply do NOT play well with others. Yahoo has a number of proprietary features in their environment that lead to fairly frequent failures, bugs, updates, etc. etc. If you're going to stick with Yahoo (and I recognize that many people like the environment) it's best to try to stick to their apps. There are workarounds, of course. And sometimes they work without issues. But by far the easiest approach is simply to bite the bullet and use Yahoo.

P.S. That applies to using the Yahoo Email app available in the Amazon Appstore, as well.

This works great. Now all I have to do is remember to click the yahoo icon in my favorites. Wish I could custom name the icon to calendar, since I won't use it for any other feature.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 9, 2013 3:38:05 PM PDT
Have the Yahoo app but when I click Calendar within Yahoo page it asks me to update my browser and only options do not include Silk.

Still no Sync to the Yahoo Calendar but you can also get there by using Yahoo's mobile site at Go to your mail (top right) and then select the calendar tab. It would still be nice if Amazon could add the Sync feature so it syncs with the calendar on the Kindle Fire HD.
